Alpha Phi Alpha Oratorical Contest (2015) Deadline: November 8, 2015 Contestants must submit an original speech that is no less than 750 words and no more than 1,000 words. The speech can be no less than 4 minutes and 30 seconds in length when spoken or more than 7 minutes and 30 seconds when spoken. Contest guidelines can be picked up in the Counseling Center. The goal is to improve high school graduation rates among this group of students. GCEL, Inc. Scholarship for Title I High School Seniors The Georgia Compensatory Educational Leaders, Inc. (GCEL, Inc.) makes available two (2) $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who attend Title I schools. The Colored Rocks Foundation established the Colored Rocks Prize in 2011 to address the failing graduation rates in Georgia among young men of color. The Belk Scholarship recognizes and rewards students of demonstrated superior intellectual and personal achievement and significant leadership ability. Georgia Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture Scholarship for Agriculture The purpose of the Scholarship for Agriculture is to assist outstanding students who plan to pursue a career focusing on agriculture and who exhibit leadership skills for active involvement in the agriculture sector. To be eligible, applicant must: Be a Georgia resident. Majoring in agriculture and environmental sciences, family and consumer science or a related agriculture field. Finish high school within the year student is applying or the scholarship. Be engaged in leadership activities in high school. Must be planning to enroll in a unit of The University System of Georgia or Berry College during the 2016-2017 academic year. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA

Amount: The Foundation will award five scholarships of $3,000 each and seven scholarships of $1, 500 each. Scholarship checks will be sent to the college/university as confirmed by the recipient and placed in their college account. Georgia Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture Technical College Scholarship for Agriculture 2016 The purpose of the Technical College Scholarship for Agriculture is to assist outstanding students who plan to pursue a career focusing on agriculture from a technical school or program. To be eligible, applicant must: Be a Georgia resident. Majoring in agriculture or agriculturally related field of study. Finish high school within the year student is applying or the scholarship. Be engaged in leadership activities in high school. Must be planning to enroll in a technical college during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Have a minimum 2.8 GPA Amount: The Foundation will award ten scholarships of $1,000 each. Scholarship checks will be sent to the technical college as confirmed by the recipient and placed in their college account. Application deadline is February 5, 2016. Georgia Farm Bureau Foundation for UGA College of Veterinary Medicine Scholarship 2016 The purpose of the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine Scholarship 2016 is to assist outstanding students who elected to focus on the area of large animal/food animal practice. To be eligible, applicant must: Be a Georgia resident. Be a current Veterinary Medicine student who is specializing in large animal/food animal practice. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA Amount: The Foundation will award two scholarships of $2,500 each. Scholarship checks will be sent to the college or university as confirmed by the recipient and placed in their college account. Application deadline is February 5, 2016. Georgia Farm Bureau Foundation for Rising Junior/Senior Scholarship for Agriculture 2016 The purpose of the Rising College Junior/Senior Scholarship for Agriculture 2016 is to assist outstanding students who have been pursuing an academic career focusing on agriculture and who have exhibited leadership skills for active involvement in the agriculture sector while in college. To be eligible, applicant must: Be a Georgia resident. Be majoring in agriculture and environmental sciences, family and consumer sciences or a related agriculture field. Be a current college sophomore or junior with at least two semesters of college work remaining to receive their undergraduate degree from a unit of The University System of Georgia or Berry College. Be engaged in leadership activities in college. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA

Amount: The Foundation will award ten scholarships of $2,000 each. Scholarship checks will be sent to the college or university as confirmed by the recipient and placed in their college account.
