Huntsville Literary Association Young Writer s Contest This is open to all students in the county and St. John s eight grade students recently submitted poems. Congratulations to MICHAEL COLSH for winning first place with his poem Darkness. Honorable mention goes to Blake Young for his poem, My Dog, Bailey. NEWS: CONGRATULATIONS ST. JOHN S BAND FOR WINNING 1ST PLACE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL CONCERT BAND IA SIX FLAGS OVER GEORGIA MUSIC IN THE PARKS 2015 TIME TO ORDER YOUR 2015-16 SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS! School kits are back. They re an easy way to get all your school supplies and a great chance to support your PTO. Paper order forms for grades K-5th should be coming home with your children soon. You may submit your paper form via the school office or you may order online at www.shopttkits.com using the school code 33778. Paper forms are due April 29th and online orders can be submitted until May 8th. Ordering Online is easy and families who order online are eligible for a drawing to win a $25 SCRIP Voucher! Library News: Book Fair starts next week! Monday, the 20 th, will be student preview day and we will be open till 4PM. Tuesday, the 21 st, students will preview in the morning and begin buying that afternoon. We will stay open till 6PM that evening. Wednesday, the 22 nd, students will be able to buy and we will stay open till 4PM Thursday, the 23 rd, students will be able to buy and we will stay open till 4PM Friday, the 24 th is the last buying day and we will close at 3PM, so we can pack up the Fair. ORDER ON LINE: http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/ homepage/stjohnthebaptistschool5. Starting April 15 thru the 28th, you will be able to order books on line. Any books ordered, will be delivered to the school and sent to student AFTER the on line book fair closes. This is open to all family members. Parents are welcome at the Book Fair throughout the day, but student may NOT be pulled from class to attend the book fair with you. Please come with your students after school or on our late day, Tuesday, the 21 st. We are looking forward to a wonderful week ahead full of books and fun! Thank you. Forms are due to the library by Friday, May 8 th. SCRIP Contest: Wow! This has been a stellar school year for SCRIP sales! Thanks to everyone who has participated. Every little bit helps to support our school. Will you be up for the final challenge? The class with the most percentage of family participation in SCRIP purchases will win a pizza party for their class. The second and third place classes will get a Popsicle party. The winning classes will be announced at the May PTO meeting and the parties can be scheduled for their End-Of-Year party. All purchases will be counted - either OnDemand, online, ScripNow, Reload and Wendy's Night. Congratulations! Our fourth Box Tops Classroom Collection Competition has also begun. In this competition ALL classes that collect 400+ Box Tops during this competition will earn a popsicle party! Every Box Top counts, so keep collecting and sending in your Box Tops and help your child s class earn a popsicle party.
