Historical Overview Early College High School (ECHS) began in 2014 as an educational partnership between Fairfield-Suisun School District and Solano Community College. The program was designed to give students an opportunity to take high school and college courses simultaneously at Solano Community College. 2014-15 48 students (Grade 9 only) 2015-16 84 students (Grades 9-10) 2016-17 146 students (Grades 9-11) 2017-18 207 students (Grades 9-12) 2018-19 242 students (Currently enrolled in Grades 9-12) 2

Early College Staff 6 full-time teachers 1 full-time campus monitor 1 full-time principal 1 school counselor Wed-Fri. Plan to add 1 more teacher and a secretary/registrar next school year 3

Early College Successes Average number of SCC Units earned by grade level (2017-2018 data):: 9th Grade 7.75 units 10 Grade 19.75 units 11th Grade 34.07 units 12th Grade 49.56 units The first graduating class finished high school with an average college GPA of 3.09. 9 ECHS seniors earned one or more AA degrees and graduated from Solano College on May 24, 2018. These students earned AA degrees in General Science, Psychology, Administration of Justice and University Studies with varied areas of emphasis (Liberal Studies, Arts and Humanities, Communication, Science and Quantitative Reasoning, and Social Science). 4

2018 ECHS Graduates (33 total) 19 students (including the 9 SCC graduates) are currently attending 4-Year Universities Most of the remaining students are now attending SCC as adult full-time college students with plans to finish their AA degrees and then transfer. 5

Early College Senior Project The ECHS seniors are working on their culminating senior projects which combined elements of community service, academic research, project management, public speaking, and social skills. Showcase event is on Friday, May 3rd from 1:00-3:00 in the SCC Cafeteria 12

Future of the Program Enrollment We plan to add 65-68 new 9th grade students each year. Applications are due February 6th for 9th grade fall admission. We are recruiting students with excellent behavior, attendance, and motivation to succeed. Students need at least a 2.5 GPA in 8th grade to apply. Classrooms We are moving out of the 1100 portable classrooms at the end of the school year and moving into some of the classrooms in the 300 building. Next school year we will reach our current capacity of 260 students on campus in the ECHS program. 14
