Volume 9 Issue 2 Page 3 St. Albert the Great School visits Headquarters John Clay Barnett, Melvin Rowe and Charlie Scott manned the camp life station while the students from St. Albert the Great School took part in several history activities at the NSSAR headquarters. Melvin Rowe poses with two of the students. Then he explained how his black-powder rifle works. Charlie played his fife with the students. John Clay Barnett talked about family history and items soldiers might have carried in their haversack. Charlie gave a fife to this young lady after she joined him in a fife duet. A smile is worth 1000 words. Berne Miles instructs the students on writing with a quill pen and Amanda Rush tells the students about the Liberty Bell.
