Charles, Originator State Chancellor s Office CCSF received funding for the 2009 2010 Career Technical Education Community Collaborative renewal. Base funding will be provided for the following areas: Career Pathway Development and Enhancement, Career Exploration for 7 th & 8 th Graders, expanded concurrent enrollment opportunities for San Francisco high school students, and CTE Professional Development. Funding is in the amount not to exceed $310,000 for the period February 1, 2010 January 31, 2012. State Chancellor s Office CCSF received funding from the State Chancellor s Office Economic & Workforce Development Program for the Regional Health Occupations Resource Center (RHORC) to continue to meet emerging health workforce education and training needs by establishing partnerships between public and private sector health care employers, local government agencies and community colleges. The grant is in the amount not to exceed $101,670 for the period July 1, 2009 June 30, 2010. State Chancellor s Office CCSF received funding for the 2009 2010 Supplemental renewal grant. The grant will continue teacher and faculty externships for SFUSD and SFCC personnel in order to strengthen faculty knowledge of their fields of study and improve their ability to provide superior educational experiences through consistent professional development opportunities. Funding is in the amount not to exceed $79,000 for the period February 1, 2010 January 31, 2012 State Chancellor s Office CCSF s Small Business Development Center has received a renewal for the Youth Entrepreneurship Program serving high school age and young adult clients. Funds are in the amount not to exceed $35,000 for the period December 1, 2009 June 30, 2010. Albert Dixon, Originator Mayor s Office of Economic and Workforce Development (MOEWD) CCSF s Center for Applied Competitive Technologies (CACT), under the Office of Workforce and Economic Development, has received a renewal of grant funding to provide construction and constructionrelated courses, services, and related materials for the CityBuild Academy and Skills Upgrade Program. Funds are in the amount not to exceed $700,000 for the period January 1, 2010 December 31, 2010. Phyllis G. McGuire, Originator Small Business Administration CCSF's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has received a renewal in Small Business Administration (SBA) funding from the Regional Lead Center, Sponsored Programs Foundation of California State University, Humboldt. Funds are in the amount not to exceed $235,000 for the period January 1, 2010 - December 31, 2010. Albert Dixon, Originator The California Endowment The Health Education Department has received a no-cost extension for the Post-Release Wellness Project that is funded by The California Endowment. The Post-Release Wellness Project was funded beginning June 2007 through September 2009. The Post-Release Wellness Project includes the Health Education Department, Legal Services for Prisoners with Children and the San Francisco Public Health Foundation (Transitions Clinic). The no-cost extension will extend the project until May 31, 2010. The Post-Release Wellness Project was funded for $398,222. No additional funds have been allocated. Linda Squires-Grohe, Originator Grant-Funded Contracts and Sub-awards involving $50,000 or less incoming to the District: Los Medanos College CCSF s Center of Excellence, Office of Workforce and Economic Development, was awarded a contract to provide Los Medanos College an environmental scan on Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technicians. The contract is in the amount not to exceed $37,500 for the period February 26, 2010 June 30, 2010. Grant-Funded Contracts involving $50,000 or less outgoing from the district: Workforce Investment Act-Employment Development Department (WIA-EDD) With funds from this WIA-EDD grant, which supports the Green Launch Pad, CCSF will partner with San Francisco s Office of Economic and Workforce Development (SFOEWD) to track student outcomes and provide job development and placement services that are critical to students. The total amount of the contract is in the amount not to exceed $50,000 for the period February 1, 2010 March 31, 2011. The California Department of Education/California Early Childhood Mentor Program With additional grant funding from the California Department of Education, the Mentor Program is modifying a Personal Services Contract with Thomas L. Lamb for development and maintenance of the Program s Access Database functionality to support payment tracking and data reporting and to interface with the online Payment Reimbursement System. The modification increases the original contract of $18,440 by adding $22,500 for a total not to exceed $40,940 for the period August 1, 2009 July 31, 2010. Additional work will include maintaining and enhancing the existing data collection system and maintaining and enhancing the online reimbursement system to accommodate the participation of additional colleges and expanded stipend tracking. Lawrence C. Klein, Originator CCSF s Center of Excellence Revenue Account CCSF s Center of Excellence, under the Office of Workforce and Economic Development will enter into a contract with BW Research Partnership to provide research services including creating survey instruments, database development, implementing phone and internet surveys with employers, collecting, analyzing and summarizing data from employer surveys. Services will be provided for studies on Allied Health Occupations and Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Technicians. The contract is in the amount not to exceed $45,000 for the period February 26, 2010 June 30, 2010. Phyllis G. McGuire, Originator CCSF s Center of Excellence Revenue Account CCSF s Center of Excellence, under the Office of Workforce and Economic Development, will enter into a contract with Green LMI to provide research services including, literature review, secondary research, data analysis, and report writing. Services will be provided for studies on Allied Health Occupations and Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Technicians. The contract is in the amount not to exceed $20,000 for the period February 26, 2010 June 30, 2010. Phyllis G. McGuire, Originator National Science Foundation (NSF) Bio-Link will contract with Patricia Delich to assist in designing the WIKI facets of Bio-Link s Web site. The contract amount will not exceed $20,000 for the period March 1, 2010 August 31, 2010 (See FIO 092409 change in original period of service: September 1, 2009 August 31, 2010). Alice Murillo, Originator State Chancellor s Office Using funds from the WIA-SCO Nursing Expansion Grant, the CCSF Department of Registered Nursing will now contract with Sutter East Bay Hospitals dba California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) to provide evening students with preceptorships in the fourth semester of the nursing program while exploring preceptorships for the day students in order to offer students opportunities to assume the full range of responsibilities they will 02/25/10 FIO GRANTS page 4
encounter in the workplace. The contract has been reduced to the amount not to exceed $10,400 for the period January 25, 2010 May 21, 2010. See FIO Grants 091217. Linda Squires Grohe, Originator National Science Foundation (NSF) Mid-Pacific Information and Communications Technologies (MPICT) Center, a NSF-ATE funded regional center, will augment by $5,000 the original contract (FIO 090827) with Julian Quayle for professional services to assist in concept development and provide graphic services and computer graphic files for displays and logos for MPICT marketing and presentations. The new contract amount is $7,000 and the period is extended to August 31, 2010. Alice Murillo, Originator State Chancellor s Office CTE Pathway Grant CCSF s Office of Career and Technical Education will contract with Amanda Gerrie for the coordination of the Career Exploration and Development for 7 th and 8 th Graders project, funded by the State Chancellor s Office. On behalf of CCSF, Ms. Gerrie will coordinate expansion of the STEPS program into additional middle schools within San Francisco Unified School District. She will also finalize the curriculum and disseminate the results throughout the region and state. The contract is in the amount not to exceed $5,000 for the period of February 1, 2010 through June 30, 2010. State Chancellor s Office Regional Tech Prep Consortium CCSF s Office of Career and Technical Education will contract with Amanda Gerrie for research into and development of informational material for high school students in preparation for taking the CCSF placement tests. This information will be shared with district teachers, parents and students in an effort to support student success in placement testing. The contract is in the amount not to exceed $5,000 for the period February 1, 2010 June 30, 2010. First Five San Francisco/California Early Childhood Mentor Program With grant funding from First Five San Francisco, the Mentor Program is initiating a Personal Services Contract with Lai Yin Yeung for translation of handouts from English to Chinese for the Preschool for All Intentional Teaching Institute. The contract is in the amount not to exceed $3,000 for the period March 1, 2010 June 30, 2010. Lawrence C. Klein, Originator First Five San Francisco/California Early Childhood Mentor Program With grant funding from First Five San Francisco, the Mentor Program is initiating a Personal Services Contract with Rosa Pascual for translation of handouts from English to Spanish for the Preschool for All Intentional Teaching Institute. The contract is in the amount not to exceed $3,000 for the period March 1, 2010 June 30, 2010. Lawrence C. State Chancellors Office The Office of Career and Technical Education will enter into a contract with David Taus, Director of Operations and Education at tutorpedia to provide two workshops on teacher training and preparation to students in the teacher pathway at Lincoln High School. The contract will be in the amount not to exceed $600 for the period February 1, 2010 June 30, 2010. State Chancellors Office The Office of Career and Technical Education will enter into a contract with Susan Batchelder to provide two workshops on teacher training and preparation to students in the teacher pathway at Lincoln High School. The contract will be in the amount not to exceed $600 for the period February 1, 2010 June 30, 2010. State Chancellors Office The Office of Career and Technical Education will enter into a contract with Jihan Ejan to provide two workshops on CCSF placement tests, student equity and the multiple factors that either inhibit or encourage college success, to students in the pathway and academy programs at San Francisco High Schools.
