Never Events - Cost Medicare is no longer paying for these events. Nearly 80% of the more than 50 employers and other health care purchasers responding to the survey said plans should stop paying for services stemming from errors or related complications once Medicare officials have made the determination that the events should never occur in a hospital. Resources for Quality Hospital Compare Compares the compliance with processes and protocols. Other sites compare outcomes. However, outcomes also vary with the patient population and severity of illnesses treated.

Resources for Quality Hospital Compare - Medical Percent of patients who reported that their room and bathroom were "Always" clean. Percent of patients who reported that the area around their room was "Always" quiet at night. Percent of patients who reported YES, they would definitely recommend the hospital. Percent of patients at each hospital who reported that YES, they were given information about what to do during their recovery at home.

Resources for Quality Leap Frog Group - 2008 Report. 1282 Acute Care Hospitals in 44 States. 35% meet all standards. 65% of participating hospitals do not have all recommended policies in place to prevent HAI. In KY, Six hospitals participated in Leap Frog Survey. Only 2 hospitals adopt Leap Frog's (NQF) Policy on Never Events. No KY hospital fully meet all of the recommendations.
