We are thrilled about this opportunity to expand our relationship with ProCare and engage their fitness expertise, says Stephen Gildea, Tyrone Hospital CEO. ProCare has been Tyrone Hospital s rehabilitation provider for more than 8 years. Their successful track record in the fitness and wellness realm will be a great complement to Tyrone Hospital for our new initiatives related to health and wellness. Plans are to offer programs to address various aspects of health including programs for physical activity and fitness, injury prevention, health and functional assessments, nutrition and health education. We intend to offer all of these programs to our local businesses and industry so they can work to improve the health of their employees and their employee s families. A healthier workforce will keep long term health insurance costs down. We are all facing significant increases in health insurance over the next few years. Keeping employees healthier reduces health insurance claims and helps to maintain expenses related to 4 Your Health Choice
health insurance, says Gildea. A special feature will be the availability of a registered nurse acting as a health coach. The health coach will offer individuals professional guidance to develop a personalized wellness plan with respect to their unique health circumstances. There is also a nature walking trail on the Tyrone Hospital campus that can be used by facility users and community members alike. The walking trails are being enhanced with directional signs and distance markers. These trails provide an opportunity to extend physical fitness to the outdoors. Jim Foreman, President of ProCare Therapy and Fitness, says the Tyrone Fitness and Wellness Center will be a hub for improving the lives of anyone who truly wants to make a change for the better in their lives. Wellness and Well Being aren t just catch words or phrases for us. At ProCare these are philosophies that we have lived by for more than a decade in this region. Mr. Foreman adds, For Tyrone Hospital and ProCare to partner in these efforts will be game changing for the Tyrone community and the local businesses in terms of providing wellness services from which individual residents and the business sector can greatly benefit. Mr. Foreman also says the facility will give people an opportunity to try different programs and classes to keep their wellness journey interesting, fresh and varied. ProCare s complementary expertise in both the fitness and rehabilitation arenas along with the registered nurse health coach is an added bonus for those who may have health or medical concerns and need special guidance to achieve their specific wellness goals.
