National ownership and sustainability are cornerstones of the approach of this JP and have been and inherent and integral part of its design and implementation. Therefore, a separate exit strategy for sustaining activities and mechanisms is considered unnecessary. Sustainability after the end of the JP is expected to be achieved principally through the following means: signing of an MOU by 5 line ministries committing for intersectoral action in nutrition and food security; accreditation of all training activities; preparation of pre and in- service training curricula, officially recognized; establishing mandatory flour fortification; elaboration, approval and implementation of a National Food and Nutrition Action Plan that will include activities that require continuity.
