Flotillas 08-07, 08-08, 08-11 and 08-39 2. Division 08 COW for 2019 will be held 01 December 2019 at Benbow Inn in Garberville, CA. 3. Division 08 next meeting will be a webinar meeting 10 April 2019. Division 08 Election to be held at Boat Station Humboldt, 12 October 2019. 4. Flotilla 08-39 annual OPTREX is scheduled for 25-28 April 2019, flyer to be available the week of 25 April. 5. Flotilla 08-08 has scheduled an OPTREX for 25-27 October 2019. Details of Flotilla Reports: Flotilla 08-07 reported the following: Activates: Continue to maintain the fuel farm in Point Arena Lighthouse, receiving 2500 gallons Fuel. PYRO team did two inspections at Station Noyo. All cleanings for the Point Cabrillo lighthouse, a major cleaning/polishing was completed early February. Flotilla 08-08: Reported the following: Currently I have already Committee leads assigned for and they report as follows: a. 2019 Optrex Mammano/Farnholtz Date has been requested and approved b. Nomination Committee 2019 members are aware of responsibilities in a few months from now. c. Safe boating week Farnholtz has provided information and activity outline d. COW Thomas has made preliminary inquiry with membership and date has been selected. Preliminary arrangements with location are being made. e. Splash-In Mammano and Jolley are in process of working on this item f. Sail Boat races Mammano and Jolley state we will not participate although we have requested to have an information table at the event. g. Health and Safety Fair- Morfin states that the actual date will not be established for a couple of months so until then he will wait for the notification h. Flotilla Meeting Programs Farnholtz has a list of topics. Anita Farnholtz gave a presentation on how to fill out time sheets to report hours. Phil Mammano will be doing a briefing this coming March meeting. R. Thomas will be doing a presentation on benefits of membership as an Auxiliarist and MWR. (This segment of the meeting is a 15 minute max presentation regarding some type of knowledge that is most informative to flotilla members. Page 1 of 5

Flotilla Goals: To foster flotilla collaboration on member classes, joint vessel exam days, PE classes and Disaster Preparedness, etc. Increase membership by 5 or more. Flotilla 08-11 Reported the following: OPERATIONS REPORT: REPORTING PERIOD 19/Dec/18- to 27/Feb/19 U/W Missions 8 U/W Time 6 hrs.,54 min Helo Assist 1 129 taken to sector for maintenance & returned Hull test preformed @ Dorado moorings NAVIGATION SYSTEM REPORT: Reporting Period: 01 JAN 19 through 27 FEB 19 o Station 46207 continues to push data. o LNM: 01/19 through 06/19 reviewed, noting new information: o LNM: 01/19 o Humboldt Bay Lighted Buoy #9 noted as off station. Hazardous conditions noted at the entrance to Humboldt Bay in the vicinity of Buoy #9. LNM start 50/18. o Synthetic AIS established for Buoy #9. LNM start 51/18. o LNM: 05/19 o Crescent City Entrance Light noted to be watching properly. LNM start and end 05/19. o LNM: 06/19 o Crescent City Buoy #9 watching properly. LNM start and end 06/19. o Temporary Buoy #9 noted to be moved off station from the damaged structure. o LNM: 07/19 o Trinidad Head Light watching properly. LNM start and end 07/19 VESSEL EXAMINER REPORT: Two Commercial Vessels Inspection were conducted No more vessel exams to be conducted until arrival of 2019 decals Posters of VE event handed out in Eureka PUBLIC AFFAIRS: Promotional Posters and materials remain on store windows for recruitment Television PSA is being prepared for recording in October Flotilla members being encouraged to use recruitment cards Recorded 30 second PSA Radio Spots for Bi-Coastal Media, aired 3 times a day for a week Eureka TV Station aired 30 second commercials on Channel 3 TV: I. Water Safety Class at Bess Maxwell with third grade class II. Vessel Exam information table at Crescent City Harbor III. Lifejacket give a way at Crescent City harbor with children IV. 29RBS performed a stern and side tow V. TV Stations wants to do a television follow up story about the auxiliary Page 2 of 5

PUBLIC EDUCATION: Coastie schedule of appearances which has been placed on our website for other flotilla FC to view; Coastie appeared in the Veterans Day Parade; Also see Public Affairs Section MEMBER TRAINING (MT) Reporting Period 01 NOV-30, 2018 One boat crew trainee is ready for a Practical Check Ride to become certified. Date was set, but due to weather it was cancelled. Will schedule when weather permits. RFO and coxswain drills were cancelled due to weather. Will reschedule when weather permits. All new members need to complete the BQll course in order to hold an office or become boat crew. One new member has completed all Core Training, BQll, and the VE exam. Is waiting to be updated to BQ Contacted the members who need to complete tasks to stay out of REYERS. One completed all tasks and one is still in jeopardy. All members who have completed the five Core Training courses are up to date. New members need to complete. Three instructors are working with two Naval Sea Cadets for boat crew. Two boat training rescheduled for beginning of 2019 The initial 90 minute TCT training being schedule. Continue to work on PE Classes, Established electronic communications with members through Calendars, Briefs, Agendas, Minutes, and electronic invitations. All communications have been shared with Eureka Flotilla, Crescent City Harbor, and Naval Sea Cadets. Continue communications with Sea Cadets and Harbor personnel in the spirit of community outreach the Auxiliary expanded education on sailing and seamanship exposure; Auxiliary Facebook and Website page: US Coast Guard Auxiliary Crescent City Flotilla 113-08-11 continued to be monitored; Double numbers of Vessel Examiners to cover Eureka and Crescent City for 2019; Bring on three additional boat crew members for 2019; Bring on one new coxswain for 2019; March 30 th 90 minute TCT power point scheduled for members, and fulfill TCT requirement in 2019; Commitment to Diversity ; Erect advertisement sign at the harbor for boat crew members and coxswains needed; Bring on two sea cadet members as boat crew members in 2019; Making preparations for Water Safety days. Flotilla 08-39 reported the following: Scheduled training both in class room and on the water in March. Moving ahead with 38 annual Antlers OPTREX. Work the Boat show held at the Shasta Fair Grounds 1-3 March. Flotilla 08-39 Goals for 2019 Increased Recruitment Efforts 2% increase in Program Visits (PV) Flotilla 08-39 Webpage set up and operational Vessel inspections coordinated with Whiskeytown National Recreation Area and Shasta Lake Recreational Boating Safety (RBS) Device. Flotilla working with Sector Humboldt: Flotilla 08-39 is in contact with Sector Humboldt Air Station and is working with Whiskeytown Park to restart the Helo OPTs at the park early April. Division 08 Activities: Division 08 Webinar completed 13 March and next webinar meeting will be held Wednesday 10 April 2019. Division 08 Future Activities: Agency Interactions: Continue to work with USCG at Crescent City, Eureka, Air Station Humboldt, Life Boat Station, Noyo River and Helo Exercise at Whiskeytown Lake by Flotilla 08-39. Flotilla 08-07 will continue to support the Coast Guard Surf Boat Station at Noyo River, Fuel Farm, and maintenance of lens at Pt. Cabrillo Light Station. Flotilla 08-08 has proposed an OPTREX for October to be held at Clear Lake Flotilla 08-11 will continue to operate the MLB (29 RB) located in Crescent City. Flotilla 08-39 planning to implement Helo Opts with Sector Humboldt Air Station and Whiskeytown Park in the spring 2019. Next Antlers Shasta Lake OPTREX 26-29 April 2019. Division 08 COW will be held 01 December 2019 at Benbow Inn near Garberville, CA. Division 08 Goals: To foster flotilla collaboration on member classes, joint vessel exam days, PE Classes, Disaster Preparedness, etc. and continue to support Sector Humboldt.
