MOUND Jog-a-thon September 21, 2018 10:30 11:45

WANTED: Mound students who are ready to have a rootin tootin fun time at the annual jog -a -thon!! The Mound jog-a-thon theme this year is WILD WILD WEST and is the ONLY active fundraiser we do as a school! Our school depends on the donations received to sponsor some of the amazing traditions that your students count on at Mound. Important Dates September 7, 14, 21, 28: money turn in dates (donation slips in packet) September 21: Jog-a-thon day!! Families are invited to come to the field, cheer for students and help in the fun! No need to sign up ahead of time, just show up! The goal for each student is to raise $ 150 to help support Mound School s PTO budget. Money raised will be used to fund: Gold Medal Reading Program Field Trips Artist-in-the-Classroom Music Van Red Ribbon Week Reading Intervention Program Playground Equipment Field Day & so much more

reward $150 It is easy to win!! Each student who brings in $150 or more in donations will be entered into a raffle to win an amazing prize!! There will be a PIZZA PARTY for the classes from grades K - 2 and from grades 3-5 that collect the most donations by September 28th! Special Thanks to our Sponsors Over the next month students collect donations from their families, neighbors, and friends. Students can submit their collected donations to their teacher, the box in the front office, or donate online at www.moundjogathon.org throughout the week and will be counted each Friday. Turn in any collected donations with a submission slip found in this packet or in the front office. Contributions are tax-deductible and meet employer matching criteria.* We gladly accept: Cash Checks made payable to Mound PTO (separate checks for each student) Payments made online using Credit/Debit card or PayPal account at our secure website www.moundjogathon.org. Do not forget to enter student s name when donating online!! Does your company match charitable contributions?* Mound PTO qualifies as a tax-exempt, 501 (c)(3) charitable organization, so your donation meets matching criteria. Mound PTO will be happy to complete and submit any paperwork necessary to receive matching contributions. Send your completed paperwork to Mound PTO, 455 S. Hill Rd., Ventura, CA 93003. *Please note that individuals requiring letters from the Mound PTO for tax purposes or to process company matching must request them in writing to the office no later than October 5th.

Collection TIPS Always bring an adult when you are soliciting pledges. Only collect in your neighborhood during daylight hours, never at night. Never go into a person s house. Wear your Mound school shirt and show your school spirit if you are soliciting pledges in your neighborhood. Do not give out your full name, phone number, or address to anyone. Questions can be directed to the school office at (805) 289-1886. You must have your parent s permission before giving out your full name and grade level to a person who would like to donate using a credit/debit card at our website, www.moundjogathon.org. Write a script for yourself and practice what you will say to potential donors. Review the list of programs supported by Jog-a-thon funds. Pick some of the programs that are important to you and tell potential donors what these programs mean to you. Make a list of friends and relatives to contact that may be willing to support your efforts. A nice letter or a thoughtful phone call may do the trick. Set a personal goal for how much money you would like to raise. This will help you stay motivated! Ask 10 people for $15 and you can easily meet your goal! Please and thank you go a long way! If your parents can solicit pledges in their office, write a personalized note about this event and how much you appreciate their support. A thank you note after you have received the donation is always a good idea.

When submitting donations, you MUST include a Donation Summary below so that your donations can be tracked. If you choose not to include a slip, we will accept and appreciate your anonymous donation! Note: Online donations made in the student s name will be added to the student's totals by the Jog-a-thon treasurer. Please remind online donors to reference student s name so they may receive credit. All donations must be turned in by Friday, September 28, 2018 to be eligible for prizes. Please submit a separate check for each student! More donation summary forms are available in the front office.
