COMPETENETWORK.COM FACEBOOK.COM/COMPETEMAG @COMPETESPORTS Back to Where it All Started @CompeteEric Welcome to the 2014 Compete Sports Diversity Awards. We are excited to bring the Awards back to Arizona-where all of the fun started in 2006. We are especially honored to have Olympic speed skater Blake Skjellerup join us here tonight as co-host of our awards. We are grateful to be here tonight honoring such a wonderful and impressive array of athletes and organizations who have done so much to help grow the sports diversity movement to the point where today s athletes can participate in sports simply because they have the desire to play. The Compete mission is to unite the world through sports from professional athletes to collegiate athletes to the recreational weekend warriors, we believe in honoring those who give it all they ve got for the love of the game and who support diversity and inclusion. With the overwhelming support we received we are happy to announce that we will be hosting two Compete Diversity Awards each year. On February 28, 2015 New Orleans will play host to the 2015 Compete Sports Diversity Awards-East. This allows us to recognize more individuals and organizations for their efforts in sports diversity. So sit back, enjoy the evening and please be sure to congratulate all the winners here this evening. They and you are part of an important movement to foster equality and inclusivity in sports. Sport On, Eric Carlyle Chief Executive Officer For more information on the Compete Sports Diversity Awards East in New Orleans, please contact us at awards@mediaoutloud.com.
