Fund for Women The mission of The Fund for Women: Through collective philanthropy, the Fund for Women invests and advocates by bringing together our knowledge, passion, and commitment to empower women and girls in Delaware to achieve their potential. Beliefs held by The Fund for Women: 1. We believe in the responsibility of all women as philanthropists. 2. We believe that collectively we can accomplish more than individually. 3. We believe women and girls have intrinsic worth and potential. Established in 1993, now more than 2,018 Founders Awarded more than $2.7 million in grants over 25 years

FFW Grant Application Criteria and Guidelines For consideration, applications must: Address the needs of DELAWARE women and/or girls, Provide proof of the Agency s exempt status under section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code, Include a detailed description of project budget, not organization s budget, and Be received by January 30, 2019. In addition, if applicant is a prior grant recipient, timely receipt of final evaluation is mandatory.
Grant Applications to be Excluded Applications will be not be considered if any of the following apply: Funding request is for an individual, Organization does not have 501(c) 3 status, Funding request is for capital, Funding is for debt reduction, Project is for endowment campaign, Request for funding exceeds $15,000, Agency received a prior FFW grant and failed to submit a timely final grant evaluation of the project, or Agency received grants in three consecutive years.
Rating Criteria The Fund for Women focuses on: Programs relating to: health, wellness and life skills that lead to future economic self-sufficiency for girls and women in Delaware. Examples of programs that could lead to future economic self-sufficiency, include: arts, sports, mentoring, education, food, financial literacy, clothing, jobs training Remember our mission: To Empower Women and Girls to Achieve their Potential
Scoring Five key scoring criteria: Empowers women and/or girls Fills a need Specific target population Clear measures of success Realistic budget
Scoring Empowers women and/or girls: Transformative Enables independence of further support Provides life-changing learning opportunities (work/life skills) or resources Provides relief for those in crisis
Fills a need: Scoring Holistic approach Includes comprehensive proof of addressing need Clear link between program and need Demonstrates collaboration with other agencies Originality (not duplicative)
Scoring Target population: Includes number of women/girls served Number is realistic and substantiated Process to identify and recruit is realistic Explains how population will access the program
Scoring Measures of Success: Outcomes/goals are realistic/measurable/supported with sound method(s)/proven (qualitatively and/or quantitatively) Program implementation has milestones and goals Evidence that impact will be long-term/sustainable Innovative programs document basis for success
Budget: Scoring Link between requested amount and the budget totals Expenses are realistic given targeted population and program parameters Budget matches program outcomes/activities

Application Overview: Project Need/Target Population What is the need you expect to fill with this project? 1. Why are you doing this? 2. What need does this project address? Describe your target population and how you intend to reach them. How many individuals will directly benefit from this project? Of those benefiting, what percentage is female? 1. Who will benefit from your program? 2. How will you recruit them for the program? 3. Be realistic match your program to your capacity 4. We look for the majority of participants to be female or directly help females
Application Overview: Additional Information Explain how your project will empower women and girls to achieve their potential. How will your project help participants become: self-sufficient independent able to take care of themselves: financially, emotionally, medically, etc.
Application Overview: Measure of Success How will this project empower women and girls? How will you measure success? How will you know if the project has been successful? Summarize key milestones that are expected to occur.
Application Overview: Collaboration Collaborators for this project and the role they will play. Are you working with any other organizations? The government? Corporations? Churches? Synagogues? Mosques? List of agency board members/staff who are Fund for Women Founders.
