Past President Cheryl Hancock, presented the 2012-13 Rotarian of the Year to Bill Pritchard. Bill has been outstanding in his service to the club and to the district. He has been highly engaged in the Youth Exchange program making it work for both the club and our inbound students. He has been involved with the Rotary Foundation Annual Support Committee, Co-Chair of our STAR Committee, Group Study Exchange Committee and Rotary Friendship Committee. At the district level he has assumed several very important responsibilities, including the District Ethics Committee and the Chair of the District Membership Committee. Kids Coulee was completely funded by donations of more than $190,000 and built by over 3,700 volunteers in 1994 Kids Coulee is a special multi-leveled playscape with a number of play structures that challenges children of all abilities and an amphitheater that is unique in the county. Each spring area Rotarians have a Rotary Work Day at Kids Coulee and volunteer to spruce up Kids Coulee. The La Crosse Rotary Downtown Annual Service Committee headed by Kurt Schroeder obtained funding last year to purchase and install an Ocean Seesaw that accommodates all children including those with disabilities. They received funding from the La Crosse Community-Foundation-Mary Grace Sieber Fund, Rotary Works Foundation (includes all area Rotary Clubs) and the City of La Crosse. We thank all three organizations for working together with the area Rotary Clubs to continue to keep Kids Coulee a safe play area for our children and grandchildren. Photos Kids Coulee
