Residential Bursaries The following bursaries are exclusive to NUS undergraduate students residing in residential colleges in the Academic Year 2019/2020, subject to eligibility criteria. General terms and conditions applicable to all RC Bursaries The bursary is bond-free. The bursary is tenable for one academic year. A fresh application is required each academic year. The bursary will help defray some costs of tuition fees, accommodation fees and meal costs or the fees and costs of participating in an overseas exchange. Without prior approval from the Selection Committee/Office of the Senior Deputy President and Provost, recipients may not concurrently hold any other bursary, scholarship or free aid for the same academic year. If you are offered this bursary as well as a bursary/scholarship by OFA/Faculty, you will be informed whether you are allowed to hold both awards concurrently Page 1 of 10
Alice & Peter Tan Bursary Mrs Alice Tan made a substantial endowed gift to support academic programmes and students at the University. Mrs Tan's six children are all NUS alumni and her gift is intended to enable students with financial needs to benefit from the myriad of educational opportunities at NUS and to fund programmes that would further enhance the quality and impact of NUS students learning experience. Wong Hock Boon Bursary The late Emeritus Professor Wong Hock Boon had been dubbed as one of the founding fathers of modern medicine in Singapore, being the man behind landmark contributions in improving the health of children in Singapore and the world. He was a remarkable paediatrician with breakthroughs such as the eradication of childhood diarrhoea and jaundice as a cause of death among young. He was also known as the Father of Paediatrics and was the Head at the Department of Paediatrics from 1962 till his retirement in 1988.
