This large greenspace occupies part of the mountain that lies in the midst of Montreal island immediately north of downtown, and includes the highest spot in the city. In fact, city ordinances don t allow any building to be higher than Mount Royal. Students will have a great opportunity to take pictures here! 10:30 a.m. Depart for La Basilica Notre Dame 11:00 a.m. GUIDED TOUR OF LA BASILICA NOTRE-DAME is only one of many beautiful churches in the city. It's a neogothic building dating from 1829, constructed on the site of a much older and smaller church, which had been outgrown by its parishioners. Everything about the basilica is on a grand scale. 12:00 p.m. Depart for Old Town Montreal 12:30 p.m. Lunch on your own with-in area of supervision in OLD TOWN MONTREAL. With extensive redevelopment completed in 1992, Montréal's Old Port has grown into an animated parkland linking the city and the river, site of myriad artistic, heritage, recreational, nautical and sports activities. 2:30 p.m. OLD MONTREAL SCAVENGER HUNT! Accompanied by a professional guide, explore four areas of Old Montréal in detail. Students will hear fascinating stories and learn more about the history and architecture of the historic district. After a brief presentation of the area by the guide, each group will be divided into five teams to participate in a small scavenger hunt. The challenge: to accumulate the most points in a limited time by correctly answering all the questions! Students will use their observation skills to answer all the questions in a time limit to get the highest score possible. Here is an excellent way to learn more about the history of Old Montréal, buildings from past centuries and important historical figures all while having fun! May the best team win! 5:00 p.m. Return to the hotel or residence to prepare for the evening activities 6:30 p.m. Depart for the AML Boat Dock 7:00 p.m. Included Buffer Dinner aboard the Boat 8:30 p.m. 2-HOUR EVENING DANCE CRUISE where students can dance to modern music while viewing the Montreal skyline from the St Lawrence River.
