September 2, 2016 The Varsity Football Game for today has been cancelled and re-scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, September 3 at 11 a.m. 'Merica Day: Wear your red, white, and blue in support of our great country USA & Wildcat Country No School Monday, September 5 Labor Day Holiday Homecoming contestants and sponsors are reminded to sign up for a picture time in the Main Office and remember about the group picture that will be taken on Tuesday, September 6 at 8:30 a.m. on the front steps of the gym. Football Ticket Sales Students Football tickets will be on sale on home game Friday's beginning at 10:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the cafeteria in front of the stage. Tickets will $5 at lunch and $6 at the gate. Parents/Fans Tickets will be on sale on home game Friday's from 8 a.m. 3 p.m. in the main office for $5 and $6 at the gate. YOUTH JOB FAIR at Midlands Tech Airport Campus. Make connections for internships, seasonal work, volunteer opps, and career opportunities! See Mrs. Augsburger E203 if you need tips for getting ready. October 13 from 2-5 p.m. LHS will hold an ACT Workshop on Tuesday, September 6 from 8:20 a.m. 3:25 p.m. The cost of the workshop is $25 with the check made out to LHS. The workshop is open to any student and the absence from class will be excused.

The location of the workshop is TBD come by Counseling register. School Pictures are Back!!! Attention Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors! If you had your picture taken and ordered a package from Strawbridge during registration, please come to the Main Office before school, during your ILT, or after school to pick them up. Juniors and Seniors Do you have a demonstrated interest in public service? How about an understanding of America's political processes? If so, you may want to compete for one of two $10,000 scholarships and attend the 2017 United States Senate Youth Program in Washington, DC. Drop by the Counseling Department to pick up a pre-application. Pre-applications are due on Wednesday, September 14. If you would like to be covered in the 2016-2017 yearbook, we are excited to announce a new, simple way to submit your pictures to our yearbook! Newberry College Wednesday, September 14 Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Membership $20 (cash or check payable to LTC HOSA) HOSA is a student-led organization of future health care professionals providing opportunities for health career students to develop, practice and refine their leadership and teamwork skills. HOSA chapters promote career opportunities in the health and medical professions HOSA promotes community involvement HOSA students from LTC earn scholarships every year HOSA is for all students (not just Health Science students) who want to make a difference in their communities and in the lives of others HOSA students travel in SC, the USA, and internationally HOSA students have fun!

Requirements: Teams of 2 with 1 adult over 21 willing to supervise and act as Captain. *Having own boat is highly encouraged.* Pre-ACT and PSAT/NMSQT Test Information The state of South Carolina is offering the Pre-ACT test to all 10th grade students for FREE. The Pre-ACT will be administered at school on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. The test will take approximately two hours and 15 minutes. If you have any questions regarding the Pre-ACT, please call Ms. Burgess at 821-3405. In addition to the state providing a free opportunity for your student to take the Pre-ACT, our school will also offer the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) test to all 10th grade students for $15. Please see Mr. McCormack in the Main Office to sign up for the PSAT. Any 11 th grader that wants to try and qualify for the National Merit Scholarship should sign up. Important: If you student has an IEP or 504 and requires accommodations for PSAT testing, your student must sign up by Friday, August 26 so that school personnel have enough time to assist you in applying for these accommodations through the College Board. If you have any questions regarding the PSAT, please call Mr. McCormack at 821-3409. Seniors College Application Day 2016 Seniors College Application Day (CAD) 2016 is coming Tuesday, September 20! It will be held in the computer lab in the Learning Commons and you will have an hour to work on college applications. There are two big bonuses to doing this there will be college representatives here to help you and many of our in-state colleges waive the application fee for CAD. That means you can apply for FREE! Come to the Counseling Office to pick up an instruction booklet and sign up for a time 9 a.m., 10 a.m., or 11 a.m. Seats are limited so come sign up now!
