The CCCAOE Spring 2016 Conference will be held from Wednesday, April 20 th to Friday, April 22 nd at the Hyatt Regency & Sacramento Convention Center in Sacramento, California. Registration for the conference and hotel reservations is now open. Attendees were advised to register and book hotel reservations as soon as possible because this conference is a special joint conference in partnership with the Chief Instructional Officers (CCCCIOs), Chief Student Services Officers (CSSOs) and the Academic Senate and attendance is expected to be high. 2

6. Strong Workforce Conversation Mary Wylie, Regional Consortium Chair, gave a brief presentation on the information she received about CTE Data Unlocked Project, LaunchBoard 2.0, and the rollout of the $200 million funding during her attendance at the Pre-Session Deep Dive and Extended Operations Team meetings at CCCCO on February 2nd and 3rd. CTE Data Unlocked LaunchBoard 2.0: Spring 2016 - LaunchBoard 2.0 Training Workshops - Training on February 22, 2016 at SD City is free for attendees - The training that is to be held in May 2016 may have a $50 fee for attendees - The training that is to be held at CCCAOE will be $500 for attendees A cabinet member (CEO, CIO, and/or CSSO) must attend to qualify for the $50,000 plus 10 hours of technical assistance training. Summer 2016 - Build system-wide capacity to find, understand & use data (training & resources) The following website link, http://doingwhatmatters.cccco.edu/launchboard/resources.aspx, has additional resources for LaunchBoard 2.0. Fall 2016 - Support development of regional workforce plans 2016-17 - $50,000 plus 10 hours technical assistance at each college - Super-user trainings - One-year free CTE Outcomes Survey - 3-years free CATEMA Rollout of $200 Million Funding: Trailer Bill (finalized in July) CCCCO 5% Tentative plan is to follow CTE EF process - Form a Collaborative (includes other partners like WIBS) - Plan approved by July 1, 2017 to get funds - Funds only go to community colleges - Four-year cycle; Update plans annually by 1/31 Allocation based on - Unemployment rate - Proportion of CTE FTE - Proportion of projected job openings - Proportion of successful workforce outcomes evidenced by the metrics of the federal WIOA - (LaunchBoard metrics match) 3

Building on Current Initiatives Lightning Round The following lightning round presentations were held: California Career Pathways Trust (CCPT) Presenter: Margie DeRuyter, CCPT Grant Manager, filled in for Brian Butler who was unable to attend this meeting. Bañuelos, DSN for Life Sciences & Biotech 8. Compression Planning Facilitators: Zhenya Lindstrom, Centers of Excellence Director and Sally Cox, GCCCD Auxiliary Executive Director A Compression Planning session is a system that uses four steps to cut through distractions that can slow down decision making and strategic planning. The Compression Planning session was focused on identifying gaps or issues in the region and to then collaboratively determine solutions for targeted outcomes. Attendees were randomly divided into groups of 5 to 6 people who worked together to identify regional gaps and then develop action steps. Ideas for regional gaps, action steps and targeted outcomes were recorded and will be further reviewed at the March 18, 2016 WDC meeting in order to determine the specific tasks, deadlines and persons responsible to achieve the targeted outcomes. 9.
