Club Leaders Thank you for submitting your award information for the banquet. Each club is asked to make at least 20 placemats to be used at the banquet in November. Please bring placemats to the office by November 15. Also, please make Christmas cards for our Webster County 4-H Foundation members. You may include names and your club. Be sure to include a brief sentence or two about why they like 4-H/their experience. We have over 150 donors, so the more cards per club the better. Please do not include envelopes. Pizza Party Does your club want to win a pizza party? A pizza party will be awarded to clubs with the top percentage of re-enrollments. Winners will be announced at the banquet on November 18. Awards Banquet & Volunteer Recognition Our annual banquet will be held on Sunday, November 18 at the Starlite Village in Fort Dodge. Eligible 4-Hers and volunteers will receive an invite in the mail. Additional tickets for families will be available for purchase. Beef Weigh-In All 4-H ers planning to exhibit market beef at county, state, or interstate shows must weigh and ear tag during the county weigh-in. The date has been set for Sunday, December 9 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Gowrie Livestock Auction. County Council & Youth Committee The next meeting will be held on Monday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Webster County Fairgrounds Auditorium. Bring your favorite dish for our potluck! Clover Kids Fun Day 2nd and 3rd graders are invited to attend Clover Kids Fun Day on Friday, December 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This event will be held at the Webster County Fairgrounds. Cost is $10 which includes lunch and snacks. Call the Extension Office to sign up. Space is limited! Cooking & Baking 101 A new and exciting project area starting in January! This group will meet once a month (Sunday evenings) in the new kitchen at the Webster County Fairgrounds until May. 4-H ers involved will have the opportunity to learn the basics of cooking while baking fun and new recipes each month. To help cover the project expenses, there will be a one time fee of $15. Space is limited! If you are interested, sign up by visiting this link: www.volunteersignup.org/eqjdw Pie Baking Workshop Come and learn the basics to pie baking on December 27 from 10:00 a.m. to noon! This workshop will be held at Community Christian School in Fort Dodge. Make the dough from scratch and mix the filling to make a wonderful pie. Please bring a mixing bowl, measuring cups, measuring spoons, a rolling pin (if you have one), and Granny Smith apples. Space is limited! Contact Reagan to sign up: rblack21@fdschools.org Rifle Discipline Rifle discipline will be held on Saturday, November 10 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Practices are held at the Rifle & Pistol Club of Fort Dodge. Participants must bring hearing protection and safety glasses to each meeting. Outdoor Adventure NEW for 2019- Outdoor Adventure Project! We are partnering with the Webster County Conservation to offer this exciting project starting in January. 4-H ers will have the opportunity to learn about kayaking, outdoor skills, fishing, geocaching, reading the woods, and much more! If interested in this project area, use the link to sign up. Space is limited! www.volunteersignup.org/y8wca Babysitting Clinic Students in grades 5th-12th are invited to participate in our annual Babysitting Clinic on Thursday, December 27. It will be held at the Extension Office from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. The clinic will provide the basic skills to become a great babysitter. Speakers include a Family Consumer Sciences Educator, Nutrition Educator, local fireman, and mothers of young children. The cost is $20 and includes snack, lunch, and resources. Participants must pre-register by calling the Extension Office at 515-576-2119 by December 21. Class size is limited. No walk-ins will be allowed. Beef Blast Beef Blast is set for December 1 and the theme is general beef cattle management. This event is for youth in grades 7-12. The event will be held at Iowa State University s Hansen Student Learning Center from 9:30-3:30. Space is limited and deadline to register is November 20. What I enjoy most from my 4-H role is providing the opportunity for 4-Hers to participate in an activity that they may not be able to otherwise. 3. What do you like to do in your spare time? In my spare time I like to hunt, shoot and spend time with my family 4. What is on your bucket list? My bucket list item would be the opportunity to hunt big game in Alaska.
