July 2010 Dear ABC-MI Friends: Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I trust your summer is going well! I am pleased to announce an important equipping event for you and other church leaders to be held October 22-23, 2010. Friday s Equipping Event, Change: How to Manage the Journey, will feature Rev. Brad Powell, author of the book entitled, Change Your Church For Good and Senior Pastor of NorthRidge Church in Plymouth, Michigan. Saturday s gathering will include the Annual Business Meeting followed by a presentation I will be leading. In my presentation, I will seek to merge the learnings from Friday with my perspectives regarding emerging trends, implications, and opportunities for ABC-MI congregations. Enclosed please find the event schedule, details about our speaker, and a registration form. Registration for this year s event is open to all who wish to attend. The event is to be held at the First Baptist Church of Charlotte, Michigan and I hope you will encourage your pastor and fellow congregants to attend all the sessions. There will also be a variety of exhibits on site with information that is pertinent to the ABC-MI family. A special highlight of our gathering is the Friday evening Worship Celebration beginning at 7:00 p.m. Attendees are invited to energize and sustain the ABC-MI Family by sharing their talent in worship. A separate registration form is enclosed for all who would like to participate. The service is open to everyone and you will not want to miss this special time of celebration and fellowship! The ABC-MI Annual Meeting will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. During this meeting, (1) new ABC-MI pastors will be introduced; (2) the 2011 proposed budget will be presented; (3) annual reports submitted; (4) the nominating committee s recommendations presented; (4) proposed Bylaw revisions considered; (5) as well as other business of the ABC-MI conducted. The meeting documents will be posted on the website at www.abc-mi.org under Document Library one week before the meeting. If you need overnight accommodations, please note the deadline for securing the preferred rate at the Holiday Inn Express in Charlotte is September 22, 2010. I encourage you to register early.
