STRATEGY FOR TOBACCO CONTROL OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA Adopted by Government in 2007 General goal of Strategy is to provide framework for implementation of tobacco control measures to promote health of the Republic of citizens and to protect them from harmful effects of smoking and exposure to tobacco smoke. Quantitative goals are: 1. Prevalence of smoking decreasing for 1% in adolescent and 2% in adults per year; 2. Increasing of tobacco quit rate for 2% per year; and 3. Increasing the number of tobacco free working places for 5% per year. Achieved! Not achieved Not Achieved! 11

Development and Education of Human Resources in the Field of Public Health; 6. Establishment and Development of Partnership in Solving Public Health Problems; 7. Promotion, Development, Support and Initiation of Actions providing secure and healthy living and working environment; 8. Promotion, Development and Support to Health in all Age Groups; 9. Promotion, Development and Support to Actions for Improvement of Health Status of Marginalized Population Groups; 10. Support to Development of an Accessible and Good-quality Health Care 12
