4-H News Page 4 4-H News Enroll in 4-H for the 2018-2019 year! Enrollment for the 2018-2019 is open! Membership is open to all youth without regard to race, ethnicity, color, national origin, gender-identity, sex, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, genetic information, veteran's status, marital status, religion, political affiliation or socioeconomic backgrounds. 4-H Clover buds ages 5 8 years old which are non-competitive and 4-H Members ages 9 19 years old who can enter in competitive contests. Remember the Santa Cruz County 4-H program charges $20.00 dues for the year. Make sure to select any of the projects you are interested in! It is ok to delete them later but it is important to sign up for them so leaders can contact you. Won 1st place and the right to represent the state of Arizona at the National Livestock Contest in Louisville, Kentucky, November 2019. Livestock Skillathon Contest Junior Team: consisted of 4-H members: Addison Tomlinson, Sebastian Padilla, Tyler Young, and Brett Gronlund. Members on the senior team include: Brianna Young (9th high individual), Marin Tomlinson (5th high individual), Sarah Lyman (3rd high individual), and Lauren Fletcher (1st high individual). Members of the Patagonia FFA Chapter Team included Carolina Quiroz (7th high individual), Ralphie Quiroz (6th place individual), Juliana Quiroga (3rd place individual) and John Hubbell (1st place individual). John Hubbell and Lauren Fletcher also won buckles and $200.00 in prize money.

4-H Scholarships Page 7 4-H Scholarships Santa Cruz County 4-H 2019 Scholarship Seniors as you continue your journey after high school onto college, vocational school, or any other secondary education we would like to help you. My advice is apply to all you can because college is expensive and we want to help. Scholarship Application Due: April 5, 2019 by 5:00 P.M. The Santa Cruz County 4-H scholarship is due the first Friday in April to me or your 4-H community club leader. You do not have to apply each year. 4-H Opportunities Page 9 4-H Opportunities We are looking for 4-H Members who may be interested in becoming a Camp Counselor at 4-H Wildcat Camp July 11th -14th, 2019. There will be a mandatory informational meeting in Sonoita on January 23rd at 6:00PM. There will also be informational meetings in Pima County on January 22nd and Cochise County on January 24th for those that cannot attend the one in Santa Cruz. We will be conducting interviews on the following dates: January 29th in Pima County, January 31st in Santa Cruz County, and February 1st in Cochise County We will then have two mandatory camp counselor training dates on February 9th in Sierra Vista and May 18th in Sonoita. Transportation available. We are looking for 3 counselors from each county ages 14-19. More details to come! Camp Counselors will attend camp for free.
