SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE FIRST AIRED ON OCTOBER 11, 1975 Daily Bulletin for Tuesday, October 11, 2016 TEEN READ WEEK This week is Teen Read Week. All this week there will be reading on the lawn. Today is Tea Time Tuesday in the library. This is followed by Wicked Wednesday, check out books about your favorite bad guys; Throwback Thursday, check out a classic literary read; Freaky Friday, graphic novel reading. GIRLS SOCCER TRYOUTS Will be held today at 3:30. All paperwork must be turned in before you can try out. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required. Girls, if you play another sport and will not be able to attend tryouts, see Coach Curls. CAREER EXPO 2016 Any junior or senior who would like to attend the NFCC Manufacturing & Career Expo 2016 this Thursday must sign up at Mrs. Wynn s desk by lunchtime today. A bus will be leaving at 8:00 a.m. Students attending must be in good standing, with no D s, F s, or referrals and must have good attendance. KEY CLUB Will meet at 3:00 today in the student activities room. Club dues are due. INTERACT Will meet tomorrow at 3:00 in the student activities room. Dues and applications are due. SHUDDERSOM: TALES OF POE The SHS Theatre Troupe is now selling tickets for their Fall production of Shuddersome: Tales of Poe. This is a portrayal of five Edgar Allan Poe works guaranteed to give you the shudders. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students Performances will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, October 29 in the SHS auditorium. See any theatre student of Mrs. Dean for tickets, or you may purchase them at the door. Come join us for a ghastly good time! CLASS OF 2018 Junior class t-shirts are now on sale for $15 in Mrs. Blackmon s room. Stop by to order your shirt during lunch or after school. GRAD BASH Seniors, Grad Bash 2017 will be on April 28, 2017. The total cost of the trip will be $115, which will include your ticket to Universal Orlando, the New Grad Bash Mix-In, and your transportation. Meals are not included. A down payment of $50 will be due by December 16. The remainder of your balance must be paid by March 31. Sign up with Mrs. Wynn to secure your spot. SCHOLARSHIPS Seniors, there are several scholarship opportunities available. See a listing of several further down in this Bulletin. DRESS CODE - Absolutely no holes, rips, or tears are allowed in student s clothing. MATH LAB - Free math tutoring is available in Math Lab. It is open Mondays & Thursdays in Mrs. Brown-Thomas' room, #19 and Tuesdays & Wednesdays in Mr. Sellers' room, #342. The hours are 3:00-4:00 PM. STEM The Suwannee STEM club will be meeting in room #147 every Tuesday at 3:15. PARKING Students who drive to school must have their SHS parking permit. Those who do not have it will not be allowed to park on campus. Be reminded that anyone who parks in the Publix shopping center parking lot without their permission is subject to be towed at the vehicle owner s expense. BULLYING - Bullying will not be tolerated in Suwannee County Schools. It's important that all students have a safe learning environment and therefore, there are several methods for reporting suspected bullying incidents: You can contact a school by phone and report it to school personnel You can make a report in person 1

You can submit an Online Bullying Report from the Suwannee High School website, www.suwannee.shs.schooldesk.net PARKING SHS students are NOT PERMITTED to park in the Publix or Cheek and Scott parking lots, without the express permission of the business owners. Vehicles that violate this warning will be towed at the owner s expense. BUS RIDERS All students that ride a bus home in the afternoon are reminded that you must be boarded on the bus by 3:06 each day, or you will be left behind. The buses cannot wait for you. DRIVING IN THE BUS COMPOUND Students are NOT to drive into the bus compound until after 3:00. 2

Monday, May 29 Memorial Day. School is closed. Senior Activities Graduation 2017 Tuesday, May 30 The Senior will begin at 8:30 AM in the cafeteria. This is a "Senior Only" event. There is no charge. Immediately following the breakfast, practice for Baccalaureate and the awards assembly will be held in the auditorium. You must attend this practice. SCHOOL DRESS CODE APPLIES!! DO NOT WEAR CAP & GOWN. Seniors-Only Movie Night will be held at Langford Stadium. The gates will open at 7:00 p.m. The movie will start at approximately 8:00 p.m. Free refreshments. Bring a blanket to sit on the field. Wednesday, May 31 The Senior Awards Assembly will be held in the auditorium. Report to the gym at 8:15 AM, sharp. Wear your cap and gown.
