Silver Stars Dance Team If you are interested in trying out for the 2019-2020 Silver Stars Dance Team, pick up a tryout packet from Coach Taylor in Production. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Tryouts are the week after Spring Break!

Attention Seniors! 3 Announcements just for you!! Any senior interested in speaking at their graduation, share your speech via google to Mr. Potteiger or Mrs. Cowan by March 14th. Have you stopped by the senior office to sign your name for the back of the class banner? Do it soon! Have you voted yet, for the superlatives and staff speakers for graduation? Look for an email from Mrs. Cowan dated Monday, 2/25 with more details. Only 2/3 of the senior class has voted, don't forget to vote, it will only take a few minutes of your time.

Attention Seniors! Applications and all supporting documents for the Rockwood Summit PSO Scholarship is due Wednesday March 13th by 3:00 pm to Mrs. Collis in the College/Career Center. Recipients may be awarded scholarship monies up to $1,000! The application can be found online at Naviance.

ZAPS ACT Prep Seminar The ZAPS ACT Prep Seminar will be held at Rockwood Summit on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 9am to 3pm in the Flex Room. This is a one day comprehensive test-prep seminar for the ACT. The cost is $89.99. Register at www.doorwaytocollege.com or call 877-927-8378. Information can be picked up in the Counseling Office.

Summer School packets are now available in the Counseling Office. Summer school runs from June 3-28 and will be held here at Rockwood Summit. Both credit recovery and enrichment courses are available. Limited transportation will also be available. Enrollment cards will be accepted on a firstcome first-served basis.

For students interested in learning about the actuarial field, come to the RGA High School Actuarial Information Day on Thursday, April 18th from 9:30am - 1:00 pm at RGA Headquarters. Jean-Michel Basquiat Was a Neo-Expressionist painter. One of only a small number of Hispanic-African-American artists to have achieved international recognition was featured on the cover of The New York Times Magazine which was unheard of for an African- American artist

Charlie Parker was one of the most widely influential soloists in jazz history one of the creators of a new style of playing called bop, or bebop.

Rita Dove An American poet and essayist Rita Dove was Poet Laureate of the United States from 1993 to 1995. She is an artist who weaves African- American experience into the broader perspective of international culture.

Dorothy Dandridge Actress,singer and dancer One of the first African American to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress One of the most famous African- American actresses to have a successful Hollywood career.
