For more information contact the Public Affairs Office. Announcements Hydrant Testing at Forest Glen Hydrant testing at Forest Glen will be completed August 22, 23, 29, 31 and September 5,6,12,13. Auditorium and Classrooms Closed for Maintenance August 24 28 From August 24 28, the auditorium and classrooms in building 1520 B will be closed for maintenance. Classrooms 5A, 5B, and 5C will remain open. This is to allow the contractors to fulfill the requirements outlined in the contract. DHR will be the lead for the classrooms and DFMWR for the auditorium. FMWR Customer Service Survey Available until July 31 Family and MWR is dedicated to delivering quality programs and services supporting a ready, resilient Army. We seek to identify customer interests, use of available services and the level of satisfaction with Fort Detrick programs. Please assist us in developing programs and services by taking a short survey.

Feds Feeds Families The 2015 Feds Feed Families Campaign season runs until August 31. The Commissary has a drop off box at the exit doors for your convenience. We encourage you to collect and donate food, as children and families across the United States continue to be in great need. We also have put together a Feds Feeds Families grocery bag that is full of nonperishable items for you to purchase and place in the drop off box. If you have any questions or concerns call (301) 619 2436. Volunteer Opportunities The Boys & Girls Club is sponsoring the Tour de Frederick on Saturday, August 15. The race begins at 7 a.m. at the Delaplaine Arts Center, 40 S. Carroll Street (downtown Frederick). For more information on the tour, please visit the following link: at www.tourdefrederick.com. Balfour Beatty Community Center The Directorate of Emergency Services will host interactive law enforcement activities, fire safety displays, kids games, food, drinks, first aid station, and McGruff the Crime Dog until dusk. At the conclusion of activities, Movie Under the Stars featuring the Lego Movie will be presented from dusk to 10 p.m.

SFC Stone Retirement August 4 SFC Stone's retirement ceremony will be held on August 4 at the Fort Detrick Community Activities Center, Bldg. 1529. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will recognize SFC Stones' military service, eat lunch, and say our farewells. For more information, call (301) 619 8249. CDMRP Seminar August 6 1:00 2:30pm in the Fort Detrick Auditorium Building 1520B "Changing the Risk Benefit Balance of Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation" A presentation by pioneering bilateral arm transplant surgeon, Dr. Andrew Lee. In 2012, Dr. Andrew Lee, from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, led a team of surgeons who successfully performed a bilateral arm transplant on an Iraq War veteran who had lost all four limbs. Fort Detrick Night at the Keys August 13 Free tickets available on a first come, first serve basis at the Leisure Travel Office. Tickets are $2 at the gate with a valid government issued ID/CAC card. Fort Detrick Fire Department Adult CPR/AED Class The Fort Detrick Fire Department will hold monthly Adult CPR/AED Classes for personnel assigned to Fort Detrick at the Fire Station, 1419 Sultan Drive. Classes are held the third Thursday of month. The class will run from 9 11:30 a.m. To sign up call (301) 619 2528. Class size is limited to 12 students and seats are assigned on a first come first serve basis. ACE Civilian Suicide Prevention Training Fort Detrick Auditorium, Building 1520B 1:30 3 p.m.
