After graduating St. James High at 16, he worked with his father on his ice truck for 3 years before joining the army from 1948-50 where he became a mechanic. He worked at Pan Am Southern Corp Refinery in Destrehan until the recession which lead him to his life long career at Kaiser Aluminum for 32 years. Mr. A.J. met his wife, Elsie, after seeing her walk out of church. It was love at first sight. At the time, he was riding with her brother to work & had never met her. He took her out the following Tuesday & were married for 59 years. They have a son; Paul, 3 daughters; Jeanne, Angela, & Gay, 7 grandchildren, & 3 great-grandchildren. Before moving to the Manor, Mr. A.J. lived at Ashton Manor Assisted Living in Luling. His former hobbies included hunting, fishing, & serving at mass since he was a young boy. We welcome you & hope you enjoy your time here. September s Employee Spotlight Amanda Robertson, Mandi, was born & raised in Thibodaux. She has three children & one grand-child. She began working in the personal care department as a CNA in April of 2016. Her past work experiences include 25 years as a home health aide. She values caring for the elderly & knows that God is using her as an instrument of His work. Amanda s hobbies include being with family, casinos, and taking a joy ride. She loves decorating and seeing the outcome of changing things around. Thanks for all you do Amanda!
