I would like to thank Scott Neyens and Brad Kruse for managing the bar the last two years. They donated many hours each week for all of us. Through their efforts, the members and guests had an opportunity to enjoy many great social hours, allowing them to enjoy the atmosphere they created. Also, I would like to thank Cheryl Neyens for taking the job of Bartender Manager the last year. Great job Scott, Brad, and Cheryl!! See photo on page 6. April is the month that we take nominations for the different officer s positions at the club. I encourage all of you to think about being an officer and consider taking on one of these positions. It is very rewarding and enjoyable. Just a reminder for all men, our dues are due April 1 st. You can pay them at the bar to help save on postage. Reminder--you need to be a member in good standing to qualify for the insurance benefits if something happens to you on your job. Meeting Dates to Remember in April Wednesday, April 1 st, Aerie Meeting at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 6 th, Auxiliary Meeting and Initiation at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 th & 22 nd Trustee Meeting at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 th, Aerie Initiation at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 h, Aerie & Auxiliary Meetings at 7:00 p.m. Mark Your Calendars Aerie Meeting and Officer Nominations Wednesday, April 1 st The Aerie will be taking nominations for officer positions at the Aerie meeting on Wednesday, April 1 st at 7:00. You must be present at the meeting if you want to be nominated. The vote for officers will be held at the May meeting. Burger Nights--Thursdays, April 2 nd and April 16 th Asbury Eagles Club Burger Nights will be held on Thursday, April 2 nd and Thursday, April 16 th from 4:30-8:00 p.m. Proceeds from the first Burger night will be going to the Eagles Club and the second night s proceeds will go to Dupaco Relay for Life. Burger Night includes: Burger, brat, or hot dog, a variety of salads, French fries, and burger toppings. Cost: Adults - $6.00, Children 10 & Under - $4.00. Please consider helping with burger night. Each night we need help preparing, serving, and cooking food. There will be sign-up sheets at the club. Denny Troy Friday, April 3rd Denny Troy will be playing from 7-11 p.m. on Friday, April 3 rd. Breakfast Buffet--Sunday, April 5 th A buffet style breakfast will be served from 8:00 a.m. Noon on Sunday, April 5 th. Cost is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children ten years of age and under. All proceeds will go to charity. Auxiliary Initiation and Officer Nominations Monday, April 6 th The Auxiliary will be initiating new members on Monday, April 6 th at 7:00 p.m. Please be sure to attend if you are a new member and have not been initiated yet. You are not eligible for benefits until you are initiated! The auxiliary will be taking nominations for officer positions at the Auxiliary meeting also. Fish Fry Friday, April 10 th The Eagles Club will be having a Fish Fry on Friday, April 10 th from 5:00 8:00 p.m. The menu consists of Fried Cod or Shrimp with baked potato, roll, and salad bar. Prices are $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for kids. Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 11 th The Eagles Club will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at the Asbury City Park starting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 11 th. The Easter Bunny will once again arrive at the park by an Asbury Fire truck. Every child will receive a bag of candy and other prizes will be awarded also. Everyone is Welcome! Events Continued Baseball Trip Saturday, April 11 th The Eagles club will be sponsoring a baseball trip to a Cubs vs. Brewers game in Milwaukee on Saturday, April 11 th. We will leave the club around 1 p.m. and return around 1 a.m. Please see the sign-up sheet at the club for more information and to sign-up. You must pay when you sign up! Scott & Cheryl s Karaoke Saturday, April 18 th Scott and Cheryl will be having a Karaoke night on Saturday, April 18 th starting at 9:00 p.m. Kid s Karaoke Sunday, April 19 th Kids Karaoke will be held (in the dining room) on Sunday, April 19th from 2-4 p.m. There will be a sign-up sheet at the club. Kids must sign up before April 15 th. If we do not have a minimum of 15 kids signed up, the event will be cancelled. Happy Jo's pizza, snacks, and soda will be provided. Please sign your kids and grandkids up early. This is a free event. District Meeting Sunday, April 19 th The district meeting will be held at the Iowa City Eagles Club on Sunday, April 19 th at 11:00 a.m. Anniversary Party Friday, April 24th The club will be hosting an Anniversary party on Friday, April 24 th. This party is for current card holding members only. You must show your membership card in order to enter the party. Cocktails start at 5:30. Dinner (Pork loin and ham) will be served at 6:30. Music will be enjoyed from 9-12. There will be sign-up sheets at the club. You must sign-up in order to attend! The money raised will go towards a charity that will be decided at a later date.
