Biographical / Historical Colonel Clarence C. Feightner, (U.S. Air Force Retired), died July 18, 2004 at age 88. He was born December 10, 1915 in Winfield Township, Montcalm County, Michigan to Harry Harris Feightner and Minnie Pamela Wright Feightner. He graduated from Lakeview High School, Lakeview, Michigan in 1932. He enlisted in Company E, 126th Infantry Regiment, Michigan National Guard in 1933 in Big Rapids, Michigan, and transferred to the 119th Field Artillery in Lansing, Michigan in 1935. He graduated from Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) in 1939 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. During World War II, Feightner served 39 months overseas as a combat planning officer in the Signal Section of HQ European Theater of Operation under General Dwight D. Eisenhower, and in the Signal Section of HQ 12th Army Group under General Omar Bradley. After WWII, he returned as a civilian industrial hygiene engineer with the Michigan Department of Health in Lansing and Saginaw, Michigan. In 1950, he moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as an Industrial Hygiene Engineer at Tinker Air Force Base. He transferred from the U.S. Army to the U.S. Air Force in 1951, remaining on active duty until retirement in October 1966, with 32 years of service. Feightner was a member of Siloam Masonic Lodge #276 and a Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of - Page 3-

Guthrie, Orient of Oklahoma for over 50 years. He was married to Vera Droeser Feightner, with whom he had four daughters, Rhonda Jeanne, Mia Mae, Tanya Sue, and Lisa Anne. Scope and Contents The collection consists of a Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) diploma, a MSC commencement program, and engineering experiments for Phys 306q. Also included is a Oklahoma University Civil Defense Training Short Course certificate.
