Grand Knights are requested to pass this information to all other members in their Council. The Virginia State Council s 113 th Annual Meeting will be held at the Sheraton Roanoke Hotel & Conference Center, in Roanoke, VA. beginning Friday, April 26th and ending Sunday, April 28th. This convention package outlines all the details for the weekend. If you have not already made your hotel reservation, please do so immediately. If you have not yet completed your registration package, please do so immediately and forward to Brian Ripple. Complete information on the hotel and all convention events, as well as convention registration forms, can be found on the State Council website at http://www.vakofc.org Attached you will find the following useful information: Preliminary Agenda Recommended attire for convention functions Convention Committee assignments Things to bring to the Annual State Council meeting The Annual Meeting delegate sign in will be held in the Ballroom Foyer of the hotel. If you have not previously given your Charity Checks (KOVAR, VKCCI, Fr. Bader, and PKD) to your District Deputy, there will be tables near the registration counter for you to turn them in. If you are presenting a report or making any formal remarks at the convention, please have a typed copy and an electronic copy of your report available for the Executive Secretary on Friday. Your submission is what will be used to prepare the Proceedings of our Annual Meeting and Convention. An e-mailed MS Word copy will also be accepted by the Ex Sec at executivesecretary@vakofc.org. Things to bring to the Annual State Meeting The following is a list of items that each Council should bring to the Annual State Meeting being held April 26th at the Sheraton Roanoke Hotel in Roanoke, VA. Columbian Award Application Supreme Form SP-7 The State Deputy would like every Council to submit their Columbian Award application form no later than the Annual Meeting. If you have already provided a copy for the State Deputy Award, then you may disregard this section. You can file this electronically on the Supreme web site before the meeting (go to http://www.kofc.org/officers/forms/formlist.cfm?type=1). If you file electronically, please make sure that you copy the General Program Director, George Piette on the form and keep a copy for yourself. If you choose to file it manually, please bring a copy to the meeting. Checks for VKCCI, KOVAR, PKD, and Fr. Bader As a reminder, a brief description for each of these follows: VKCCI Councils are asked to contribute $1.00 per member. Monies are used by Virginia Knights of Columbus Charities, Inc. to fund grants of up to $2,000.00 for individuals in need throughout Virginia. Checks are made out to VKCCI. VKCCI is a 501 (c) 3 corporation. KOVAR Monies collected from the annual KOVAR Drive, as well as other fundraising activities. Monies collected are used to assist 501(c) 3 corporations fund various projects for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Checks are made out to KOVAR. PKD Penny a Knight per Day Councils are asked to contribute $3.65 per member. Monies collected are used to support vocations throughout Virginia. Checks are made out to Virginia State Council. Father Bader Scholarship Fund Councils are asked to make an annual donation. The Fr. Bader fund provides scholarships to graduating high school students who must be members in good standing, or the children of members in good standing or of deceased members who were in good standing at the time of their death. Checks are made out to the Virginia State Council. Thank you for your cooperation.
