3. Health research - examples for Iranian participation
Facts and figures about Iranian Participation in Horizon 2020 Health research Iranian applicants have been involved in 5 SC1 proposals up to now (regenerative medicine, rare diseases, vaccine development for malaria and/or neglected infectious diseases, implementation research) unfortunately not funded 1 Iranian partner has been successfully involved in the FP7 project GENCODYS - Genetic and Epigenetic Networks in Cognitive Dysfunction (2010-2015) 1 Iranian Partner is succesfully involved in the Horizon 2020 collaborative project PoC in-office device for identifying individuals at high risk of Osteoporosis and osteoporotic fracture (Industrial Leadership, Nanotechnologies) Regarding the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), Iranian entities are participating in 1 health related MSCA action (leishmaniasis)
Key message for Iranian researchers and entities Horizon 2020 is the largest research and innovation programme in the world. SC1: the largest budget/year in the history of the EU Framework Programmes ca. 700 million/year for collaborative research (excluding IMI, EDCTP, and the SME Instrument). International cooperation is encouraged in Horizon 2020. Iranian nationals or institutions are eligible to take part in Horizon 2020 and receive funding, as individual researchers or in collaborative projects. Participation in Horizon 2020 projects offers exciting opportunities to extend your research field, your network and your career options.
