We invite you to join us for the 2016 SERC Annual Conference to be held at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. The Beau Rivage is located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, about an hour s drive from New Orleans to the west and Mobile, Alabama, to the east. Biloxi is one of the oldest communities in the country, having first been settled in 1699. Today, the city is a cultural melting pot, with a year round schedule of celebrations, set against a backdrop of sugar-white sand beaches, great deep-sea or freshwater fishing, an array of championship golf courses, museums and historic sites, tantalizing seafood restaurants, and, of course, the excitement of 24-hour non-stop casino resorts. The Beau Rivage is easily accessible by land where Highway 110 ends at the Gulf; and the Gulfport/Biloxi International Airport is only 15 minutes away. Our Annual Conference Committee, with the theme Helping Solve the Housing Puzzle, is hard at work securing expert trainers for our break-out sessions, organizing receptions where you can trade information with your colleagues and with vendors, and putting together our annual golf tournament in support of our Scholarship Program. We are also doing something a little different at this conference we are not having a banquet. Instead, as part of your registration we are including tickets to a performance at the Beau Rivage Theatre on Tuesday night with a special reception (heavy hors d oeuvres) immediately preceding. Additional Session Information RAD After the Closing: The Role of Technology and Operating Policies and Procedures This session will provide an overview of the role technology and operating policies and procedures will play in successful conversions to PBV and PBRA under the RAD program. Topics for discussion will demonstrate how technology and policies and procedures must work together and their impact on day-to-day operations. Objectives 1. Provide a working outline of required policies and procedures vs those that are waived and impact on dayto-day operations. 2. Provide practical experience from a technology perspective. Outline the HUD/IRS program and reporting requirements and considerations for operational decisions required by RAD converting organizations. 3. For properties converting to PBRA, provide an overview of multifamily HUD systems and their use.
