Commander s Comments As I write this month s article, I m on a plane returning from the annual Air Force Reserve Recruiting Service Award program. What I saw was a group of professionals who have led the Department of Defesense the past 10 years in achieving their recruiting goals. Many of you reading this are a direct result of those outstanding efforts. Trust me when I say I would put our recruiting staff up against any. They are fired up are ready to work. I am proud to report the 477th FG took first place in what I consider to be the most important category; the Get One Now award! I was honored to have Master Sgt. Stephan Kimbrough with me on stage to receive the award from Lt. Gen. Charles Stenner, commander of Air Force Reserve Command. Why do I think this award is any more impor- tant than another? It s about you. You ve heard me say time and again that each of you is our best recruiter and this award only proves that in spades. The recruiters can t be everywhere and they don t know the pulse of the locals like each of you. We will continue sending small teams to accompany recruiters during school visits and other civic events. Numbers are important, but I am more impressed with the quality of folks you are recruiting to join the 477th FG, as we are without equal. Each of you sets a clearly recognizable standard that makes others want to emulate and participate. Your professionalism and positive attitude draws good people into our ever growing family and I thank you for it. Lt. Gen. Stenner passes on his confidence of and appreciation for what you do. I am encouraged each and every day that the challenges we face are no match for the men and women of the Arctic Reserve. Think positively, act assertively, work passionately, and believe faithfully. Great work team! Col. Bryan Radliff 477th FG, commander UNIT COMPLIANCE INSPECTION Why is this important? A Compliance Inspection is a United States Air Force Inspection conducted to assess areas mandated by law, as well as mission areas identified by senior Air Force and Major Command leadership as critical to the health and performance of a unit. What will be inspected and when? The entire 477th Fighter Group will undergo a Staff Assistance Visit in December to identify the areas the unit needs to address before the UCI in June 2012. How to prepare: 1. Review your program operating instructions. 2. Determine the required checklists. 3. Look up checklists in the Management Internal Control Toolkit (MICT) at https://www.my.af. mil/reservenetprod/mic/mict/mymictview.aspx, and work with your supervisor, or MICT administrator.
