BEST-IN-CLASS CONSULTATIVE SERVICES OUR PHONES ARE STAFFED BY PARAMEDICS, BACKED BY A TEAM OF TOP-RANKED DOCTORS AND SPECIAL OPERATIONS SECURITY PROFESSIONALS. MEMBERS WHO ARE SICK OR INJURED ABROAD RECEIVE REAL-TIME ADVICE FROM THE WORLD S FINEST SPECIALISTS AT JOHNS HOPKINS MEDICINE.

Regardless of the emergency your employees face, our staff of paramedics, doctors and security experts is prepared to do whatever it takes to bring your people to safety. Our exclusive relationship with the Division of Special Operations of Johns Hopkins Medicine is unique in the industry. It allows Global Rescue members to receive critical advice from some of the world s top physicians in real time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Traveling employees who are sick or injured need immediate answers to important health questions. Whether our members decide to stay where they are for treatment or return home, they receive medical advice from the same source that supports the U.S. Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security. Johns Hopkins is an obvious choice for the needs of the United States Government and our corporate clients. Since 1990, it has been rated the number-one medical center in the United States and in the top tier for every ranked specialty. Global Rescue has a network of more than 3,000 qualified hospitals worldwide, including 65 Centers of Excellence. When our medical staff deploys to your employee s side, they work under the direction of our expert physicians.

GLOBAL REACH Off the coast of Seoul, Korea An engineer contracted by a leading oil company was assigned to a rig off the South Korean coast. When the company extended his assignment there by three months, the engineer was faced with a medical problem. His supply of heart medication was nearly exhausted. Not only did he need a new prescription and somewhere to obtain the medication, he also needed medical advice on what to do if the supply of pills ran out. Global Rescue consulted with our staff of doctors about the risks to this member s health, and then obtained a new prescription from his primary care physician. Because the identical medication was unavailable in Korea, let alone aboard the oil rig, our staff quickly found the medication at an American pharmacy and expedited the package to the engineer. Within hours of his request, he had received both the medicine and critical medical advice he needed. Global Rescue is proud to offer the resource of Johns Hopkins Medicine to all its clients. Global Rescue provides critical emergency services insurers donʼt, including timely medical information from the finest physicians at Johns Hopkins. James. A. Scheulen Chief Administrative Officer, Johns Hopkins Emergency Medicine

65 CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE The continuity of your business is threatened every time an employee becomes ill abroad. While our members can opt for evacuation to the hospital of their choice under our premium services plan, sometimes the most prudent choice is not to evacuate. Global Rescue has identified 65 hospitals as Centers of Excellence, affiliated with top-tier American institutions. At many of these hospitals, the specialists have trained at Johns Hopkins or at other premiere institutions.

BE PREPARED FOR THE NEXT PANDEMIC: Avian influenza, SARS, dengue fever, leptospirosis, cholera: It s not a question of if one of these diseases will strike, but when. How is your organization prepared? Imagine that dozens of your employees are at a conference in the tropics and one of them returns with symptoms of a communicable tropical disease. What is the risk to the other conference attendees? What is the risk of company-wide outbreak? Everyone is turning to you for answers. Where do you turn? Pandemic specialists at Global Rescue are prepared for crises such as these. They create custom plans for any type of outbreak and provide your company with a dedicated team of medical professionals who guide managers through the exact protocol. They identify a disease s signs and symptoms, describe what actions to take and locate medication and treatment as needed.

RAPID CRISIS RESPONSE OUR RESCUE TEAMS CAN BE AIRBORNE IN UNDER 90 MINUTES, DEPLOYED ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. THIS CAPABILITY LEADS TO IMPROVED PATIENT OUTCOMES AND REDUCED CORPORATE LIABILITY.

Global Rescue deploys our personnel to assist our members at the site of injury, illness or security threat. This is a major departure from the way the rest of the industry does business. Simply put, our field rescue units will come to find our members wherever they are. Making use of hundreds of fixedand rotary-wing aircraft based in 40 countries, our teams can be airborne in under 90 minutes from the initial phone call. With a network of more than 3,000 hospitals around the world with English-speaking staff, and translation available in 170 languages, reliable emergency care in any language is never far away. Once a patient has been stabilized, it is then up to the client to decide whether to be transported to the nearest appropriate facility, to one of 65 Centers of Excellence worldwide, or to the home hospital of choice. That could mean evacuation in a medically equipped private jet or on a commercial flight with a medical escort. Regardless of how the patient is transported, Global Rescue personnel are there to expedite logistics, provide medical support and act as liaisons for our physicians and Operations Center. Through this hands-on approach, Global Rescue ensures that our clients and patients get the best possible care.

RESPONSIVENESS Colca Canyon, Peru The Colca Canyon is one of the deepest canyons in the world, with soaring walls rising to 12,000 feet, leaving no possibility of hiking out, according to an article in National Geographic. In 2006, Blackstone Dilworth, the chief executive officer of a communications infrastructure company, was trekking through the canyon when he slipped off the narrow trail. Mr. Dilworth slid 50 feet down a steep slope until his fall was stopped by a cactus. He was left bleeding with cuts on his head and chest and was in urgent need of medical care. Mr. Dilworth s retained assistance company told him that their policy required that he check himself into a hospital in Lima before they could help. A member of his party then called Global Rescue. Within 20 minutes of the call, Global Rescue activated American and Peruvian aircraft, along with ground rescue teams in case a helicopter could not land in the rough terrain. Our teams located the party s signal fire, landed the helicopter and immediately started treating the patient. Mr. Dilworth was airlifted to a landing strip, transferred to a medically equipped aircraft, and then flown to a Center of Excellence in Lima. Once his wounds were treated and he was stabilized, Global Rescue safely evacuated Mr. Dilworth to his home hospital for further treatment. The medical evacuation company I had subscribed to left me out there to die. Global Rescue saved my life. B. Dilworth, Chief Executive Officer Towers of Texas

Global Rescue provides the finest emergency medical services available and they are surprisingly affordable. Colleges, universities and other institutions are well advised to use their services. ON-SITE CASE MANAGEMENT Doha, Qatar James A. Boyle President, College Parents of America In 2008, an employee of a large university suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while on a work assignment in Qatar. The 37-yearold marathon runner was defibrillated by EMS and taken to a local hospital for treatment. His co-workers immediately contacted Global Rescue. Global Rescue dispatched a team of paramedics to Doha to act as on-site case managers. Global Rescue s Operations Center contacted the Qatari emergency room and gained access to the patient s medical records and ECGs. Our physicians then conferred with specialists from Johns Hopkins, who recommended the employee should undergo surgery to receive an internal cardiac defibrillator before boarding an airplane. Our case managers succeeded in expediting the timeline for surgery and provided physical and emotional support to the employee before escorting him home to the United States. The patient has made a full recovery and has returned to work.

Our association with Global Rescue has been superb in every way. The response has been immediate and the service has been perfect. Dick Coe, Chief Operating Officer The U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team Col. USAF (Ret.) MEDICAL EVACUATION Bourg St. Maurice, France While competing in the French Alps, a U.S. Ski Team athlete crashed and shattered her pelvis. Her coach contacted our Boston Operations Center immediately to coordinate her transport from a clinic in the Alpine village of Bourg St. Maurice to Denver, Colorado. Global Rescue dispatched medical personnel to coordinate her care and act as on-site case managers. We initiated conference calls between the French doctors, the ski team s head physician and Johns Hopkins, who immediately identified that a critical component of her care had been overlooked. The doctors concluded that, due to the complicated nature of her fracture, the best option would be evacuation aboard an ICU-equipped Learjet 35 to a Denver hospital for surgery. She soon returned home to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, made a full recovery and returned to competition. WITH THEM... HOW IMPORTANT IS THE ABILITY TO CHOOSE YOUR HOSPITAL? Consider the recent case of an engineer for a large technology company. He developed a cardiac problem while traveling in Saudi Arabia and called his employer s assistance company to arrange evacuation to the United States. He was in need of surgery, but the assistance company insisted that the local hospital treating him was adequate. This adequate hospital clause is typical across the industry and means the patient will not be transported to the best possible care. In the case of this engineer, the hospital had never performed the procedure before, and as a result he died on the operating table. This policy contributed to the avoidable death of an employee and it exposed the company to significant financial liability in the lawsuit that followed. ...WITH US IMAGINE YOUR EMPLOYEE S NEWBORN HAS JUST BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A RARE DISEASE. That nightmare became a reality for the parents of an infant and the father s employer. The newborn was diagnosed with a life-threatening disorder while in Qatar. The parents contacted the assistance company retained by their employer and asked that the child be flown to the United States for treatment. The company refused. At that point, the parents contacted Global Rescue. We immediately led a call between the Qatari doctors and specialists from the receiving hospital to discuss treatment options. Shortly thereafter, we sent a specialized neonatal transport team to Qatar. Within hours, the family and Global Rescue personnel were aboard a plane headed to the United States. Due to winter storm advisories in the Northeast, Centers of Excellence along the flight path were placed on standby. Despite the adverse conditions, the Global Rescue team landed successfully in the U.S. and brought the family to the hospital under police escort. The infant made a full recovery. CUSTOMIZED SECURITY SOLUTIONS IN AN INCREASINGLY TURBULENT WORLD, YOUR BUSINESS RESILIENCE DEPENDS MORE THAN EVER ON CONTINGENCY PLANNING. ENTRUST YOUR ORGANIZATION S SECURITY TO GLOBAL RESCUE S SPECIAL OPERATIONS VETERANS.

More than ever before, companies require reliable solutions to confront the security challenges posed by an increasingly complex and violent world. Geopolitical instability, natural disasters, acts of terrorism: Your business faces significant threats to its international operations. Global Rescue is equipped to protect your assets and employees worldwide. We can also deliver rapid security evacuation solutions on virtually any scale required. Every emergency is different, and Global Rescue s responses are just as varied. When a rapid extraction from a hostile environment is required, Global Rescue will deploy a Quick Response Team (QRT), made up of special operations personnel with the ability to recover missing or threatened employees and property. When a large group of employees are affected by a disaster, Global Rescue can initiate a mass evacuation. Our security and evacuation teams are made up of military special operations veterans who have performed hundreds of high-risk and protective missions. They are experienced in operating in the world s most austere and hostile environments. Sometimes these situations can be avoided by assessing a region s risk beforehand, but when avoiding dangerous areas is not an option, Global Rescue can provide a close protection detail to safeguard your people.

Global Rescue provides us with the critical resources we need to respond to emergencies; when called upon, they have performed at the highest levels Keith Young, Director of Security Altria Group, Inc. CAPACITY Beirut, Lebanon JULY 2006 MISSION LOCATIONS LOCATIONS BOMBED IN LEBANON In July 2006, hundreds of foreigners found themselves trapped in Lebanon amid fighting between Israeli and Hezbollah forces. Roads were damaged, all major airfields were bombed and overflight clearances were unobtainable for non-military aircraft. The only way out appeared to be overland to Syria. Two Fortune 500 companies turned to Global Rescue to locate and evacuate dozens of employees scattered throughout the country. Our teams compiled physical descriptions of the employees, sometimes consisting of nothing more than a single photograph, as well as last known locations. Escorted by indigenous military teams over heavily damaged roads, Global Rescue found all employees, brought them to a central rally point in the capital and transported them via ship and helicopter to Cyprus prior to repatriating them.

MASS EVACUATION Disasters strike without warning. Earthquakes, tsunamis, floods and civil wars disrupt business continuity, destroy infrastructure and devastate populations. Make sure you are prepared. Global Rescue is equipped to evacuate employees using heavy jets, helicopters and other forms of mass transport from logistically difficult environments. QUICK RESPONSE TEAMS (QRTs) Composed of Global Rescue special operations personnel, QRTs can extract employees from hostile and difficult conditions. Rapidly deployed via air, land or sea, these teams are similar to military combat search and rescue units. CLOSE PROTECTION When avoiding high-risk regions is not an option, Global Rescue provides security plans and personnel to serve as armed escorts and drivers. These highly experienced teams perform threat assessments and advance party duties prior to the member s arrival, and accompany the client with the utmost discretion. SECURITY AUDITS We assess the internal and external security of any facility to mitigate such risks as employee sabotage, car/truck/boat bombings, hijacking, as well as biological and chemical attacks. Our solutions include the installation of security systems and cameras, security training for employees and the creation of emergency procedures.
