GUIDELINES FOR WOODSTOCK HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 2019 GRADUATION PRACTICE AND EXERCISES SENIOR FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE: Monday, May 20 th Tuesday, May 21 st Wednesday, May 22 nd Thursday, May 23 rd Class Period 6 th and 7 th 3 rd, 4 th and 5 th 1 st and 2 nd Make-up Seniors MUST leave after their last exam period of the day OR be under direct supervision of a teacher. ATTENDANCE APPEALS: Appeals are generated automatically, as needed. All appeals are due by Friday, May 3 rd in the Attendance Office. Any time to be made up for excessive absences will be served Wednesday, May 22 nd through Friday, May 24 th. CREDITS EARNED OUTSIDE WHS: All students who are Dual Enrolled or taking online classes (i.e. GAVS) for high school credit: All Official Transcripts should be sent to Woodstock High School: Attention Monica Correll by Wednesday, May 15 th. Students in APEX courses must complete their course and submit paperwork by Wednesday, May 22 nd at 4:00 p.m. TEXTBOOKS: Textbooks should be returned to the bookroom (500 Hall). The bookroom will be open before school (7:45 a.m. 8:15 a.m.) and during the first 15 minutes of each lunch period May 20 th through May 22 nd. All textbooks and fines must be cleared in order to participate in graduation. CUMULATIVE FILE ITEMS RETURNED: Woodstock High School will be returning several student registration documents with your diploma when you return your graduation gown. These items may include, but are not limited to, any of the following: copy of birth certificate, copy of social security cards, medical records, etc. LOCKERS: Lockers must be cleaned out and left open by 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22 nd. SENIOR ACTIVITIES PERMISSION FORM: The Senior Activities Permission Form must be turned in to Ms. Snyder in Room 906 or the front office by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17 th. OUTSTANDING OBLIGATIONS: All debts, obligations, and detentions should be cleared by Friday, May 17 th, at 8:00 a.m. These may include, but are not limited to, any of the following: media center fines, book debts, uniforms, parking tickets, lab fees, unserved detentions, etc. To participate in the graduation exercises, all graduates must have cleared outstanding obligations with the school. SENIOR SLIDE SHOW PICTURES: Due by May 3, 2019 Hard copy: Bring to Yearbook Room 200. Put name on back of each picture and place in an envelope. E-mail: Woodstock.yrbk@gmail.com (preferred method) ATTIRE: For all practices, casual but modest dress is acceptable. Shoes must be worn at all times. Students who are not appropriately attired for practice will be sent home and therefore unable to participate in the actual graduation ceremony.

Once dismissed from practice, you are required to leave the campus immediately. You are not allowed to enter the school building without special permission after practices have concluded. In order to participate in graduation exercises on Saturday, June 1 st, graduates must attend EACH practice session in its entirety. Do not be tardy! All school rules apply to graduation practice and exercises. Any student who breaks a county or school rule or creates a disruption during practice will be dismissed from practice and not be allowed to participate in the graduation exercises. GRADUATION EXERCISES: The graduation ceremony is a privilege not a right. Your behavior is the most important factor in the success of graduation. Distracting dress or misbehavior may result in your removal from the ceremony. Graduation Attire: Male: White collared shirts, dark tie, dark dress pants, dark dress socks, dark dress shoes. Female: Dresses (no longer than the graduation gown), or dark pants, and dark dress shoes. Athletic shoes are not considered dress shoes. No flip flops are permitted. NO Graduation Cap decoration. Students violating this rule will have to purchase a new cap at the graduation ceremony. Only academic regalia allowed: honor cords, tassels, medals. No corsages, etc. allowed. Graduation attire is very important. Only those seniors who are properly attired will be allowed to march in the graduation ceremony. Students who are not dressed appropriately will be sent home. Traffic in the area is always heavy and occasionally students who have been sent home to change don t make it back for the ceremony. Don t let this happen to you! See Mr. Smith or Mrs. Henson in the front office if you are having a problem meeting the dress requirements. On the day of graduation, Saturday, June 1 st, please be at the church no later than 7:30 a.m. Graduates will report to the Magnolia room and locate their advisor. Do not go into the auditorium to visit. No one other than the graduates and school personnel will be allowed in the hallways where the graduates are lining up prior to the ceremony. If you are concealing any inappropriate items, you will be pulled from the line-up and not be allowed to participate in graduation. Please do not create an embarrassing situation for yourself by failing to abide by this rule. RENTAL GOWN RETURN & DIPLOMA DISTRIBUTION: Your rental gown must be returned. You keep your hat, tassel, and honor cords. Turn in your gown at Woodstock High School in the Rotunda between the hours of 8:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 3 rd. When your gown is received, you will be given your actual diploma and records. There will be a $200 fee for any gown that is damaged or not returned. Your diploma will be held until payment is made or the gown is returned. Upon receiving this letter, students will sign indicating they have read and agreed to the graduation guidelines. GENERAL GRADUATION INFORMATION BUILDING ACCESS Students should use the Pre-School entrance and proceed to the Magnolia Room. Parents and guests must enter the building through the main entrance only to the Worship Center. STUDENT BEHAVIOR Student cooperation with members of the faculty in charge of practice is mandatory. Failure to follow school rules, or willful failure to follow directions, will result in the student being denied participation in the graduation ceremony. Negative behavior is unacceptable at the graduation ceremony. Any behavior that draws attention to you as an individual, or detracts from the dignity of the ceremony itself, will result in exclusion from the ceremony and a record of the incident recorded in his/her permanent record. This ceremony is special; therefore, it should be conducted with the decorum expected at such events with class. VIEW CEREMONY ON THE INTERNET The graduation ceremony may be viewed LIVE on the internet at www.fbcw.org. VIDEOTAPING AND PHOTOGRAPHY The FBCW Media Productions Department will be the sole provider of video services for the graduation ceremony. Order forms must be completed and returned to FBCW. Checks should be made payable to Media Ministry FBCW and mailed to FBCW Media Ministry, 11905 Highway 92, Woodstock, GA 30188. Cash is not accepted. No refunds. Still photography will be provided by the school s contacted photographer. Family and friends are asked not to leave their seats to take photographs during the ceremony. FBCW DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM I-575 (NORTH OR SOUTH) 1. Take Exit #7, Highway 92 heading east toward Roswell. 2. The church will be approximately 2.5 miles on the left. 3. The main entrance for the church is marked by the tower on the left. (Students and Staff only may turn before the tower, at the light located at the intersection of Highway 92 and Neese Road.) ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD, DRINK, NOISEMAKERS, BALLOONS OR SIGNS WILL BE ALLOWED INSIDE FBCW!

Friday, May 31 st First Baptist Church Woodstock at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, June 1 st GRADUATION o Seniors arrive at 7:30 a.m. All practices are mandatory! Each student is responsible for their own transportation!

SENIOR ACTIVITIES PERMISSION FORM My student (please print),, has permission to participate in the graduation ceremony and agrees to attend all practices and abide by the rules of behavior set for the practices and the graduation ceremony. I give my student permission to leave early when he/she is dismissed by administrators after exams & after practices. Parent signature I, (please print), choose NOT to have my student participate in the graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 1 st. I understand I am still responsible for a diploma fee of $25.00. I can pick up my students diploma on or after Monday, June 3 rd between the hours of 8:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m. Diplomas will NOT be mailed.
