The Sooners and Gators, who have combined to win four of the last five national championships, will take to the LNC floor at 6:45 p.m. CT. A combined five athletes currently rank in the top-10 of the all-around standings as Maggie Nichols (first), Brenna Dowell (sixth) and Anastasia Webb (seventh) represent OU, and Trinity Thomas (fourth) and Alicia Boren (10 th ) represent the Gators. HISTORY LESSON It s been four years since the Gators last made the trek to Norman, in a meet that saw records fall. In 2015, OU set the school record with a 198.500, scoring better than a 49.500 on every event (49.525 on vault, 49.500 on bars, 49.750 on beam, 49.725 on floor). Two athletes (Erica Brewer, Haley Scaman) scored a 10.0 - Brewer on beam and Scaman on floor. Senior Brenna Dowell was just a freshman at the time and is the only member of the OU squad who competed against Florida in 2015. PROTECT OUR HOUSE On Sunday, the Sooners will look to build upon their 96-4 all-time home record under 13th-year head coach K.J. Kindler. OU has claimed 30 straight victories in Norman dating back to 2014. KINDLER VS. SEC FOES In 13 seasons, OU head coach K.J. Kindler has posted a 39-8 record in the regular season against SEC foes. In 2018, the Sooners went 3-1 in the regular season against the SEC, defeating Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia. This season, the Sooners are 4-0 against the SEC with two wins over Arkansas and victories over Georgia and Missouri. TOP TOTALS Of the nation s top totals this season, the Sooners hold the top three scores. OU is the only team to hit the 198 mark, holding the top spot with a 198.050 scored in the season opener at Arkansas. The Sooners have added scores of 197.975 (Jan. 26) and 197.825 (Jan. 11) to round out the top three. TOP OF THE CLASS After posting the nation s highest score of the weekend, the Oklahoma women s gymnastics team remained the No. 1 team for the fourth week in a row. The Sooners, who tallied a nation-leading 197.975 on Saturday, have now been the No. 1 team for a total of 56 weeks since the start of the 2015 season. THE ROAD TO FORT WORTH RUNS THROUGH NORMAN The Sooners have arguably the toughest home schedule in the nation in 2019 with 2018 NCAA Championships teams Alabama, Florida, Georgia and UCLA making the trek to Norman. Along with Oklahoma, the five teams have combined to win the last 23 NCAA Championships. Florida, Oklahoma and UCLA have combined to win the last five. CLOUD 9.9 The Sooners have posted 45 scores of 9.9 or better during the first three meets of the year. With 96 routines under their belts, that means that 47 percent of the routines competed have scored at least a 9.9. The Sooners have put up double-digit scores of 9.9 or better in each meet, tallying 13 at the Metroplex Challenge, 12 against Arkansas and 10 each against Georgia and UNC. Of schools currently ranked in the top five UCLA and Florida have 30 such scores, LSU has 24 and Utah has 22.
