ANNOUNCEMENTS WEEK OF 9/25/17 Monday, September 25 Are you looking for an after school job? Did you know the College Center has several jobs posted that might be the right fit for you! The jobs range from babysitting, after school care worker, food industry, insurance company office work, to working with animals. Stop in today to check out the job opportunities available!!! Anyone interested in Model UN for this school year is invited to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 27th right after school in Room 113. Thank you. Today the College Center will have several college reps visiting throughout the lunch periods. Please check the listing outside the College Center or check your Naviance account for a complete listing. Stop by and see these reps if you would like more information on these colleges. Attention Juniors! The College Counselors are visiting Marquette University on Monday, October 2nd and they're inviting you to join them! If you have any interest in taking a bus trip up to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to learn more about Marquette, head to the College Center for more details. Today the College Center will have Spring Hill College available outside the dining hall 7th period. Please stop by and see the rep if you would like more information on this college. Here s how you can help eliminate hunger in our community: Mother McAuley will be taking part in the Souper Stadium Food Challenge, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Chicago. Catholic Charities serves more than 150,000 people each year through 8 food pantries, but they need our help. All next week McAuley students and faculty are asked to bring in one non-perishable food item. All items will be collected to stock Catholic Charity food pantries. Students may bring their food items to Theology classes. Faculty can bring them to the food box located outside the chapel, or to the faculty dining room. Look for signs around the school with suggestions of food items for each class level to donate. Today the College Center will have several college reps visiting throughout the lunch periods. It's time for our annual College Fair! From 6:30p to 8:30p tomorrow night, both McAuley and Brother Rice will host over 150 college representatives. Students of all levels are invited to attend. There will be a meeting in the small gym for anyone interested in playing softball in the spring this Wednesday Sept 27 after school. Then please join us for an informational meeting about Spanish Club. Spanish Club is open to all students who are currently taking a Spanish class. The cost is $5 and our theme this year is GREASE so drag out your poodle skirts, pink lady jackets, or your best greaser attire and join us next Thursday Oct 5th as we welcome the HEARTBREAKERS from Misercordia. It is expected that all students, with their parents, complete the FAFSA. Remember school specific scholarships are dependent on if you submitted FAFSA. Seniors looking to attend a college or university located in Illinois, this scholarship may be the one for you! Applications are available in the College Center for the Pilchard Foundation Scholarship. This is an $8,000 per year renewable scholarship for students graduating in Spring of 2018. Stop by more information and to see if you meet the requirements.

Good luck to our Mighty Macs this weekend. Starting tonight varsity volleyball will be at home in the ASICS Challenge. Tomorrow our swimmers will be at the Sandburg Invite. Cross country will compete in the Savage Invite. JV tennis will play in the GCAC Conference Tournament. On Monday varsity tennis will play Eisenhower at the Beverly Tennis Club.
