Foundations for Community Schools K-12 are increasing as an essential service to support educational projects for school districts due to budget constraints. What continues to drive the Foundation is our mission: Our mission is to provide financial support for innovative educational projects not ordinarily provided through the district s operating budget. 501 (c ) (3) non-profit organization. Donations to our foundation are tax deductible according to IRS guidelines. 4

2012-2013 Core Program Updates Signature Programs Mini-Grants Mini-Grants Help Teachers Foundation Mini-Grant Finn-Milleman Mini-Grant SOS (Support Our Students) SOS Helps Students SOS program helps students from families that may struggle financially to help purchase appropriate supplies to be ready for school. This program has helped 100 s of students. 5

2012-2013 Core Program Updates Specialty Program 100 s Club This is a Women s Philanthropic Group which raises money for the K-5 grades for Leveled Readers texts which are used in elementary classrooms. This program helps all of the Ames elementary schools. 6

2012-2013 Gift Updates The raised funds for the programs - Mini-Grant, SOS, and Leveled Readers. The also raised funds through the inaugural event last September 2012 - at thetaste for Education Event. The next slides break down the recent gifts to the Ames Community School District. 8

2013 Event Update Raising Awareness EVENT INCLUDES Food Tastings from chefs and restaurants Silent Auction and Live Auction Unveiling of the dessert Jazz Band Seating is reserved and is 10 seats to a table EVENT SUPPORTS The Foundation, as well as proceeds will go towards upgrading technology in the classroom at AHS, Mini-Grants for teachers, and the game that evening will go to the Leveled Readers program for the K-5 grades. 15
