ABOUT THE COLLEGE SNS College of Engineering was established in the year 2007 with a vision of being in the forefront of Technical education and Management studies. The motto of our Institution is to impart quality education with an international exposure leading to knowledge and develop multiple skills among the students community. With a state-of-the-art infrastructure, highly skilled & dedicated faculty members and outstanding Placement & Training cell, SNSCE keenly concentrates on continual knowledge enrichment that moulds the students to achieve excellence in all their endeavors. The college is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, situated on Coimbatore Sathy highway at Kurumbapalayam and is about 10 Km from Coimbatore Airport. It offers six UG programme, six PG programme and research programmes. DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) has been playing a vital role in producing Electrical Engineering graduates with the acumen, competence & skills needed to enter, succeed & lead a professional career. The department offers UG (Regular) programme, PG programme (Applied Electronics and Research programmes). The department along with its highly qualified faculty members started functioning right from inception and engages actively in teaching and research in all current areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. State of the art computational and experimental facilities enable the department to undertake basic and applied research and provide support to R&D organizations. Page 1
The students acquire interpersonal and communication skills from the EEE Association and promote their professional skills through societies like Institution of Engineers (India) and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The students from the department emerge as sound Professionals serving the society through technology. ACHIEVEMENT BY THE STUDENTS Ms. A. Shanmughapriya and P. Saranya of III EEE have presented a Technical Article on Power Quality and EMC on Smart Grid and won Second Prize in the National Level Technical Symposium SURYASTHRA-2011 at Surya Engineering College on September 23, 2011. TECHNICAL ARTICLE PRESENTED IN NATIONAL LEVEL TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM BY THE STUDENTS J.R. Beny and A. Mathumathi of III B.E., EEE have presented a technical article on Transparent Electronics in the National Level Technical Symposium ADVIKA 11 held at RVS Faculty of Engineering, Coimbatore during September 16-17 2011. FACULTY MEMBERS PARTICIPATIONS Mr. C. K. Gobu has attended one week workshop on Wireless Network held at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore during July 4-10, 2011. Ms. M. Maheswari has attended two days workshop on Power Quality and Solution, held at Jansons Institute of Technology, Coimbatore during December 16-17, 2011. Mr. B. Prabhakaran and Ms. D. Gokila Priya, have attended two days workshop on MATLAB in Field of Research held at SNS college of Technology, Coimbatore, during December 8-9, 2011. Page 2
