LT participation in Horizon2020 H2020 budget - 80 billion EUR LT contribution ~ 230 million EUR Participants from LT received 44 million EUR A projection by the EC - to reach 90 million EUR by the end of H2020, whith the increase standing at 72.2% comparing to 52 million EUR received in FP7

Participation of all countries in H2020: Participation in H2020 (586 calls) LT participation in H2020: Total eligible H2020 applications: 170,606 with 611,949 participants EC funding requested by all projects: 270.538 billion EUR Currently funded: 20,167 projects with 95,315 participants EC grant for funded projects - 35.56 billion EUR EU average: Success rate by participation - 14.73% Success rate by EC funding- 13.96% 2,483 LT participants participated in 1,976 H2020 applications. LT institutions are involved in 255 projects. Number of LT participants in projects 313, of which 52 are project coordinators. LT experts as evaluators for H2020 applications 186 experts (44% - female and 56% - male) from Lithuania have been contracted as evaluators for H2020 project proposals. Measures to promote participation in the Horizon 2020 projects For applications: Suport to HE&R institutions that have prepared applications of the H2020 projects: 3,000 10,000 Eur (RCL, MoESS); Acquisition of consultancy services (for HE&R institutions): up to 20,000 euros (MITA, MoESS); Assistance to SMEs to prepare applications (INOSPURTAS) (MITA, MoEI); Support for SMEs preparing H2020 applications: up to 15,000 Eur (MITA, MoEI) National Funding for Individual R&D H2020 Marie Skłodowska Curie and European Research Council projects (for 1 MSCA project approx. 130-190 thous. EUR) (RCL, MoESS) For skills: Support for outgoing and incoming researchers (for HE&R institutions): exchange of ideas, visits, internships (RLC, MoESS) TYKU2 project (for HE&R institutions). Addressing the remuneration issue (low salaries of researchers at the national level) LT challenges in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe Higher ring-fenced budget for widening measures is needed Facilitating collaborative links in European research and innovation and contributing to full engagement of Europe s talent pool Fostering participation of young researchers Synergy with the cohesion policy (state aid rules as the negative effect)
