MINUTES AUTAUGA COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION AUGUST 2, 2018 The Autauga County Board of Education met in a special session on Thursday, August 2, 2018. Board Chairman Jeffrey Keith called the meeting to order at 12:10 p.m. with board members Mr. Keith, Mr. Manderson, and Ms. Ballow present. Mr. Manderson gave the invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance followed. The agenda for the meeting was approved on a motion by Ms. Ballow, seconded by Mr. Manderson. The following information was received: Prattville Junior High School Bookkeeper Job Descriptions The superintendent s recommendation to approve the consent agenda was unanimously approved on a motion by Ms. Ballow, seconded by Mr. Manderson after removing #7 Personnel Action to #8 Consider for Approval. The items on the consent agenda were as follows: Special Education Contracts Pine Level Pre-K Structure Playworld $3,839 Textbooks Autauga County Technology Center FACS Tables Bresco $15,400 Autauga County Technology Center FACS Flooring C.W. Smith Decorating $9,345 Disposals Mr. Agee stated the intercom system at Pine Level Elementary School is out and must be replaced. An operable intercom system is absolutely essential for the safety and welfare of the students and faculty. With school starting next week, and no time to competitively bid the replacement of the system, I recommend the Autauga County Board of Education declare an EMERGENCY pursuant to Ala. Code 16-13B- 2(12) for purchase of a replacement intercom system. The superintendent s recommendation for the Autauga County Boa rd of Education to approve the bid of GraybaR in the amount of $36,824.12 for the replacement of the Pine Level Elementary School intercom system was unanimously approved as presented on a motion by Mr. Keith, seconded by Ms. Ballow. Mr. Agee stated the intercom system at Prattville Primary School is out and must be replaced. An operable intercom system is absolutely essential for the safety and welfare of the students and faculty. With school starting next week, and no time to competitively bid the replacement of the system, I recommend the Autauga County Board of Education declare an EMERGENCY pursuant to Ala. Code 16-13B-2(12) for purchase of a replacement intercom system.

The superintendent s recommendation for the Autauga County Boa rd of Education to approve the bid of Moffitt Technology, Inc. in the amount of $85,987.99 for the replacement of the Prattville Primary School intercom system was unanimously approved as presented on a motion by Mr. Keith, seconded by Mr. Manderson. On the recommendation of the superintendent, the sale of 22 buses to South Alabama Bus Sales in the amount of $70,250, 2 buses to Pike Road Schools in the amount of $4,000 and 1 bus to Liberty Baptist Church in the amount of $1,000 was unanimously approved as presented on a motion by Ms. Ballow, seconded by Mr. Manderson. On the recommendation of the superintendent, the purchase of 20 computers from Dell in the amount of $13,557.20 was unanimously approved as presented on a motion by Mr. Manderson, seconded by Mr. Keith. On the recommendation of the superintendent, the June 2018 Bank and Financial Statements were unanimously approved as presented on a motion by Mr. Manderson, seconded by Ms. Ballow. The superintendent s recommendation to approve the special education contracts as presented was unanimously approved as presented on a motion by Ms. Ballow, seconded by Mr. Keith. On the recommendation of the superintendent, the future purchase of wall mount A/C units from Wittichen in the amount of $3,995 was unanimously approved as presented on a motion by Mr. Manderson, seconded by Ms. Ballow. On the recommendation of the superintendent, the following personnel action was unanimously approved on a motion by Mr. Manderson, seconded by Mr. Keith. Declined Employment 1.
