ELIZABETH SETON HIGH SCHOOL SHINE YOUR LIGHT

Many women do noble things, but you will surpass them all. As a Seton girl, your creativity, talents, and enthusiasm for learning will be nurtured and challenged, preparing you to take your place as one of tomorrow s leaders. 1

She has no fear. TAKE CENTER STAGE To dream big dreams and to have the confidence to make those dreams come true you need to believe that nothing and no one will stand in your way. Such self-assurance is one of the many benefits of an all-girls high school. Seton girls take center stage. You will be empowered and encouraged to express yourself freely; to expand your interests beyond traditional strictures; and to stretch your limits in the classroom, on the playing field, and in the community. At Seton, young women launch every discussion, solve every problem, lead every club, captain every sport, initiate every service project, and reap every reward. If you are ready to assume the starring role in your own life, set your sights on Seton. We re here to support you every step of the way. GRADUATES OF ALL-GIRLS SCHOOLS ARE 6 TIMES MORE LIKELY TO CONSIDER MAJORING IN MATH, SCIENCE, AND TECHNOLOGY EXCEL IN UNTRADITIONAL WAYS. Nationally, girls are under-represented in STEM majors and careers. However, graduates of allgirls schools are six times more likely to consider majoring in math, science, and technology. They are three times more likely to consider engineering careers. The alumnae of all-girls schools reach for the stars: they have heightened career aspirations and hold more leadership positions than girls who graduate from co-ed schools. 2 3

STRENGTHEN YOUR SPIRIT AS WELL AS YOUR MIND Seton is an inclusive, faith-based Catholic school, modeled on the values of St. Vincent de Paul: compassion, humility, generosity, and service to others. In addition to completing four credits in religious studies, you will be encouraged to spend time in prayer and reflection through school liturgies; class retreats; and the annual Christian experience, Seton Encounter. She opens her arms to those in need. As a Seton girl, you will be expected to complete community service hours, with an emphasis on assisting those in need throughout the Washington metropolitan area. Our extensive range of service opportunities cultivate spiritual development and compassionate understanding.
