A CALLED CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary for the purpose of voting to approve amendments as proposed by the Congregation Council. A simply majority vote is required for passage and is recommended by Council. During the ANNUAL CONGREGATION MEETING a 2/3 majority vote for ratification is required if the proposal to amend the constitution passes by simply majority on November 8, 2015. Amendment changes are on pages 4-6. The changes are displayed with a line at the right margin. If you would like to review the proposed changes to the constitution you may go to our website (http://www.splcweb.org/#/welcome/coming-soon) or contact the church office to receive a copy. The ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING date has been changed to Sunday, November 15, 2015 by the Church Council at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. At the Annual Congregational Meeting, we will elect the only candidate running for the remaining open two-year term, we will elect six persons to serve on the Congregation Council for three-year terms. (The six persons receiving the highest number of votes will be elected.) We will elect LCMC Delegates for 2016. We will adopt a spending plan for the year 2016. We will have a 2/3 majority vote for ratification on the proposed amendments to the constitution if the simply majority vote passes on November 8. Lastly, we will entertain any other business brought before the congregation at this meeting. Newly elected Council members will be installed the next Sunday, November 22, during the worship service. Fireman s Sunday, October 18 Fireman s Sunday will be observed next Sunday, October 18, this year. We honor those in our congregation who serve as firemen, first responders, officers, and directors. We appreciate each one who gives of their time and even risk their lives to insure our safety and protection. HOLY COMMUNION Please note that we will celebrate Holy Communion on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in October (11th and 25th). The Family Life Committee will meet Tuesday, October 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room. OLD TIMEY STEW It s that time of year again. The OLD TIMEY STEW will be held in the P i c n i c S h e l t e r o n Saturday, October 24, at 6:00 p.m. Please bring a dessert to share. Event was rescheduled due to the hurricane. OKTOBERFEST FAMILY NIGHT Thursday, October 22, at 6:00 p.m. The Family Night will have a German theme and food. At this time RHM has requested that we refrain from bringing plastic bags due to their major contributions of bags. Relay for Life Chopped BBQ Lunch Sunday, November 1, following Worship The Relay team is hosting a BBQ Lunch fundraiser on Sunday, November 1st, immediately following service in the fellowship hall. The menu is Chopped BBQ, slaw, baked beans, roll, dessert & drink. Mike Sifford is preparing the BBQ. Suggested Donation is $8 per plate or give as you can. This is our first Fund Raiser for the 2016 Relay. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society through the St. Paul s Relay for Life team. Please make checks payable to ACS. We are preparing for a crowd, so please stay for lunch and enjoy good food and fellowship while supporting this worthy cause. Thanks for your continued support. We could not do this without you!
