GENERAL INFORMATION Georgia HOSA is proud to partner with the Marriott Atlanta Northwest at Galleria to host this year s Fall Leadership Conference November 8 th -9 th! This event is for all HOSA members and will offer competitive events, leadership growth opportunities, exciting general sessions, the HOSA Dance and student-choice leadership workshops. Advisors will attend a competitive events training session led by your Competitive Events Management Team. Forms necessary to attend the event and details of competitive events can be found in the sub-menu on the conference page of the Georgia HOSA website. Deadlines Date Deadline Notes October 17 Hotel Reservations Last day to get discounted room rate October 18 Registration Last Day to Register Must be Completed, Online by 5pm. No refunds or additions after this date. October 25 Payment Payment must be in-hand by the 25 th. Plan ahead to ensure your bookkeeper can meet this deadline! On-Site Conduct/Medical Forms These forms must be turned in on-site for every attendee. REGISTRATION INFORMATION Registration will be conducted via the HOSA Affiliation System s online registration feature. Students must be registered members before attempting registration. You can add a member and they will immediately show up in your list of students to register as long as you complete the affiliation process. COMPETITIVE EVENTS We are happy to offer 4 competitive events at the. Junior HOSA Recruitment Poster The purpose of the Junior HOSA Recruitment Poster competitive event is to create a recruitment poster to attract middle school members to join a Jr. HOSA Chapter. Details are located in the event guidelines on the FLC page. HOSA Membership Recruitment Display The purpose of the HOSA Membership Recruitment Display competitive event is to create a display along the same lines of Career Health Display to use at the local high school to attract secondary HOSA members into your own chapter. Details are located in the event guidelines on the FLC page. State T-Shirt Contest Georgia HOSA chapters have been designing excellent chapter shirts that show Georgia HOSA s pride for years! We want to recognize those chapters for their hard work and select a chapter who best designs a Georgia HOSA shirt based on this year s conference theme for use at the SLC. The winning design will be sold at the State Leadership Conference t-shirt in Athens, GA as the official conference t- shirt. Details are located in the event guidelines on the FLC page. State Pin Design Contest Each year Georgia HOSA members display their peach state pride by trading the official state trading pin with other state HOSA affiliates at the National Leadership Conference. Each state has different
ways to come about creating the pin, but at the end the goal is to attend the NLC and get as many other state HOSA pins as possible! Georgia HOSA opens our design process to the members. Details are located in the event guidelines on the FLC page. DRESS CODE Georgia HOSA members and guests (including advisors) are always required to adhere to the Georgia HOSA Dress Code policy when attending a Georgia HOSA function unless otherwise noted. Professionalism is key to a successful career and we will not allow participation without following our dress code. Attendees are permitted to travel in HOSA Casual attire (details online) and attend the events before the Opening Session in HOSA Casual attire. For all other sessions, except the dance, all attendees are expected to be in business attire. Details of the dress code are on the Georgia HOSA website. CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS Leadership Sessions There will be many breakout sessions available for you to choose from. Your students will have the opportunity to meet the State Officers, as they will be presenting three engaging workshops! Advisor Training Session As it is required that all advisors work in some form with the Competitive Events (CE) process at the State Leadership Conference, Georgia HOSA s CE Management Team will be presenting a training session at the FLC to help all advisors understand the process of running CE. HOSA Showcase Attendees will have the opportunity to walk through the HOSA Showcase. The HOSA Showcase will have all of the submissions from the FLC Competitive Events. Voting Judges will judge the Junior HOSA Recruitment Poster and HOSA Membership Recruitment Display contests. However, the State T-Shirt Contest and State Pin Design Contest will be judged by your chapter! Each chapter will be given 1 vote for each event and will be allowed to vote on the top designs selected by the State Officers. Georgia HOSA Store As always, we will have our infamous HOSA Store with plenty of HOSA merchandise for you and your students to purchase. You will see items from the Georgia HOSA Online Store this is a GREAT way to avoid the shipping charges! This year we will also have some items from Awards Unlimited such as the HOSA patches for your chapter blazers. HOSA Dance Please make sure to have the proper Dance Code of Conduct form signed and in-hand for entry into the dance.
Chapter President s Meeting Your State President, Sabrina Singh, has requested that your chapter president meet with her and her President-Elect, Brooke Vaughan, at the conclusion of the Opening Session. This will be an informal discussion and will allow your chapter presidents to have a time to meet with Sabrina and Brooke to discuss chapter challenges, successes and get more information on upcoming events and running for State Office. Awards Session Update The closing session of the is called an Awards Session because the purpose of this session is to wrap up the event and recognize the award winners. We will be live Tweeting and Facebook posting the finalists in the competitive events so that if your chapter is not in the finalists lists you are welcome to begin your departure process. Grab and Go Meal Options The Marriott Atlanta Northwest will be providing easy options for meals on-site. The hotel will have a Grab & Go option for breakfast, lunch and dinner. To purchase the vouchers required for this meal, simply ask the receptionist upon check in. As of this posting, a final price has not been determined so you ll need to contact the hotel for that information. She has worked with professional organizations, faithbased institutions, corporations, high school associations, and college campuses. Drawing from her Southern roots, her experience traveling nationwide as a business owner, and her educational background Amy s message appeals to folks from all walks of life. In addition to her speaking and leadership development expertise, Amy is also an organizational specialist and event planner. She received her bachelors degree in Speech Communications from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and her masters degree in College Student Personnel Administration from the University of Georgia As a proud Volunteer, Amy continues to actively volunteer in her community to work to empower youths and adults to make a difference.
