Paul Waterstradt 3869 Stone Ridge Dr. Traverse City, MI 49684 231-944-9467 20 August Marines, Subject: Yagle Brothers Detachment Officers election Very soon, we will all be asked to elect new officers for the 2016 year. As many of you are aware, we basically have very few returning officers due to illness or other reasons. It is incumbent upon us all to have a good leadership team in place so we can move forward as a detachment. I am therefore calling upon our membership to make a commitment, step up to volunteer for one of the leadership positions, attend meetings in a regular manner especially next month where officers will be nominated. Your vote and input counts and is important. It all comes down to this, if we don t have a leadership team in place, we may as well close the doors and give the property back. I personally don t want to neither see that happen nor will a lot of other people so, stand up, be counted and keep that from happening. We have several activities scheduled for the fall, Marine Corps birthday party, Toys for Tots and Veterans appreciation Christmas dinner that may not happen this year. Do you really want that to happen? It s up to us. Maury Cahill has stepped up to take charge as Commandant at this point. He is doing his duty as Senior Vice however; he will not be able to continue at this position. He has already contributed immensely to our detachment. It is time for other younger members to take on the leadership role. I am asking that everyone take a moment to consider whether or not you can contribute to keep our detachment vibrant and active. Come to next month s meeting, volunteer for a leadership position and make your voices heard. That s my thought, will you step forward? Once a Marine, always a Marine.
