From the Principal s Desk... The feel of autumn is in the air, with the warm days and crisp evenings. Last Wednesday we held our first Student of the Month assembly of the new school year. One student from each class is awarded this honor. Students are nominated and voted upon by the faculty to receive this award. The assemblies are scheduled for the last Wednesday of each month, and they are very popular with both students and faculty. Our very own jazz band, under the excellent leadership of Mr. Peter Stuart, provides live music for the assembly. On October 2 the MVHS student council sponsored our annual fall blood drive. The blood drive was a complete success with more than 63 units of life-giving blood being donated. I would like to especially recognize all those members of the student council who helped with the drive. Also a special thanks to Mr. Neil Payson, the faculty adviser for the student council, for the work that he does with this fine group of student leaders. Need Help with College Application Process? On Wed., Oct. 9, at 7:00, in the Ronald Dolloff Auditorium, Councelors will be going over the steps of applying to both a two and four year college, including application forms, tests, financial aid forms and deadlines. Much of the evening will be devoted to answering questions.
