The clinicians have all moved to the North End practice which has received a positive response from the Masonic House patients, as Masonic House has lots of stairs which are sometimes difficult for
e) Dispensary arrangements f) new phone system g) Over 75s project h) Flu clinics i) Location reorganisation some patients. The Admin and Managements teams have all moved to Masonic House. Morva, Fi and Julie are leading this move. The clinicians feedback has also been positive. North End also has better parking and access than MH. Tony said that he felt the survey which shows patient satisfaction had gone down. Fi said that was not the case and that the way the NHS rated practices has changed and now they were rated on likely and very likely to recommend. The results tend to vary between 89% and 91%. This range is very high scoring for the area. Tracy stated that although most of the feedback was positive, not all of the rooms have the right equipment in yet and this needs to be sorted out. However, from 1 October, all the GPs will have their own rooms. Doctors now stop and have coffee and a chat at 11.00, whereas previously, the rarely saw each other and barely had time to speak to one another. This, Tracy and Becky said, was really good. Becky said that the doctors were now starting to think about the days that they work so that appointments could be stretched out and that the practice was not overfull at one time so that the patient flow is better. It would also help with the car park being under less pressure and the phone lines too. The move was meant to fit with the updating of the phone system but BT let the practice down badly because the change to the new phone system had proved more complicated than originally thought. The moving started but the phones were not upgraded on time so the phone system failed. There were lots of complaints on that particular Friday. There were not enough phone lines and not enough staff. There was nothing the practice could do. They stopped the flu campaign to try and free up the phones and they reduced calls out so more lines were free for the calls to come in. They got more staff on reception to handle the calls. The social media in was alive with criticism and also saying that Masonic House was closing down. Jonathan responded, putting the record straight. Facebook had more likes than ever and there were
lots of positive comments on there too. Johnathan also announced that George Gavriel was starting. Laminated newsletter with apologies were placed in the magazine rack. The new phone system is starting on 28 September with 8 incoming and 4 outgoing lines. It is a state of the art system and it is cloud based. It will tell you where you are in the queue. If the old Masonic House phone number is called, it will automatically divert to North End. The new phone system has lots of data so analysis will be possible. Last month saw the highest uptake of online booking. By 8.10am every morning, all appointments across the 3 sites are usually taken. Please send Fi feedback of how well or otherwise, the new phone system is working. Fi to send note to Hilary when the new phone system is working. George starts on 1 October. He has been a GP partner in Aylesbury for the last 4 years. He has already attended lots of meetings here. George is also a GP trainer and works for the Royal College of GPs as well. Shelley Wagstaff is now the Practice Nurse Manager which means that she is now involved with the HR side of things. We have put in a bid for a nurse training scheme. We have a new receptionist called Elaine. She has moved to this area and has previously worked in another GP Practice. Our protocols are different to those in her previous practice but at least she is familiar with working in a doctors surgery. Jan also started and Angie started at Claydon. We have another advert out for a receptionist. The advert is on the surgery website and on Facebook. The dispensary at Masonic House is now only open between 8am & 1pm. This has only been in operation for two weeks. Yvette tried very hard prior to this, to warn patients. Patients are to be made aware that the location of their prescription collection is on the prescription itself. This is work in progress and we will have to see how it goes. We still have to have two dispensaries. We are also legally obliged to ask you how you are getting on with your medication once a year. One member asked if you are allowed to
say that you do not like a particular brand of medicine. Yes you are and can ask for a specific brand if you wish. Becky told us that there is an over 75s project which is being led by the CCG. There is a nurse and healthcare assistant supporting the over 75s to enable them to remain in their own homes. The health navigator becomes the first point of call, they phone this person if they have a problem. This is run by Age Concern and commissioning. The practice has been asked to look at the patient list to see who would benefit from this service. The names of 80 patients have been sent. Letters have been sent to those patients. If they are happy, they will be looked at by an Age UK nurse. Flu clinic start shortly and Jane will be doing displays. There will be Saturday clinics in North End. There will not be any at the community centre this year. None is on the Saturday when the Charter Fair is in town! There will be 2 at Steeple Claydon village hall. It would be appreciated if anyone could do the teas and coffees as before. Pam & Sandra offered to help depending on the dates. 5 Online test results roll-out FW/GDJ Online test results are now available through Patient Access. There is a Patient Access app now. Becky is shortly going to the Emis conference. 6 Friends and Family Test update RP Discussed earlier in the minutes. 7 Future topics and speakers George Gavriel, a new GP partner ALL Andi would like to discuss this along with end of life care. Dr George to be invited to introduce himself at the next meeting. Patient Choice in theory and in practice. Choose and book. Sure Start Falls prevention. At the Winslow Big Society they are looking at provision for the elderly and the young. Could we do something like this in? Carol stated that there is already: A car service, A Carers Support Group Young Carers support group,
Open house for people who are lonely. There is a Board of Trustees that covers Steeple Claydon, Winslow and. They respond to the needs of society. There is also a Singing For The Brain Group and a Healthy Walks Group. We are going to invite Community Care North Bucks to come along to a meeting. There is a sure start Centre and it would be good to get them to come and speak to us. How do we use the ambulance service as individuals and as a practice? 8 Patient data, Patient Access and records update FW A new shared record service is live today. Your record is 90% viewable by other local care providers such as out of hours. Stoke Mandeville can see much more detail. You can opt out of this on the surgery s website. All those who opted out of the SCR were written to about this. By May 2018, all patients will have full access to their own records. 9 Any other business There was a lot of talk about the layout of the chairs at North End so they have been rearranged into rows. We are now asking patients how their waiting room experience was. So far the feedback has been positive. The CCG AGM will take place on Thursday 17 Sept. There will be a live TV Link to University. It is being held in the Gateway in the Oculus NVI at 6pm.
