January 30, 2019 Dear Alverno Students, It s time for the Student Fundraiser and we hope you are just as excited as we are! Every year, the Alverno Community, including alumnae, faculty, staff, students, and parents come together to raise funds that will benefit each and every student at Alverno! The Student Fundraiser plays a monumental role within our school community by helping to raise funds that serve our states, our fellow students, and Alverno overall, which is why it is so vital that we get 100 percent participation and strive to not only reach our goal but surpass it! From the money raised, 40 percent goes back towards your state to help support state activities and events including class retreats, Junior-Senior Prom, Big Sister-Little Sister picnic, and other activities that we look forward to each year. Like last year, 50 percent of the funds raised will go towards special projects that we have identified as benefitting the entire school community. We are excited that this year s fundraiser will allow us to purchase a brand-new Jaguar costume for games and pep rallies, a coffee machine for the cafeteria, and additional tables for the terrace! The mission and philosophy of Alverno calls us to serve others and through this fundraiser we will not only be able to serve our community here at school but also continue to support a charity that is particularly special to Alverno She s the First. A total of 10 percent of the profits from the Student Fundraiser will be donated to She s the First, an organization that supports gender equality through education, so that we can continue to sponsor our scholar in Sierra Leone. Enclosed in this envelope is more information about the Student Fundraiser including this year s fundraiser options, incentives for reaching your quota, and important dates of which to be aware. Our tagline says it all: Be Who You Imagine. This year, we are imagining ourselves to be the student body who can continue the philanthropic mission of Alverno Heights Academy and make each student s time here at Alverno nothing short of amazing! This fundraiser is the perfect way to contribute back to your class and your school. Now, let s go out and reach our goal! Sincerely, Sydnee Sao 19 and Elisia Bendy 19 President and Vice-President Alverno Heights Academy
