PAAVAI POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE, PACHAL ANNUAL REPORT 2017 2018 I am very much pleased to present the 20 th annual report of Paavai Polytechnic College. The Classes for II & III year students commenced on 12 th June, in a traditional manner with a lot of enthusiasm. The inaugural Function for the I year classes was held on 27 th June 17. The function started with Ganesa and Saraswathi pooja. Thiru.CA N.V. Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai institutions, delivered the presidential address. Students performed patha pooja to their parents on this occasion. 70 th Independence Day was celebrated on 15 th August 2017, in a grand manner. The Chairman of Paavai Institutions hoisted the National Flag and distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions conducted in connection with 70 th Independence Day. Guruvanakkam and Padha Pooja were performed on the occasion of the Teachers Day Celebration on 5 th September 2017. An Orientation Programme was conducted for our third year students on the title URCHAGAM KOL, UNDHI NIL, MUNDHI SEL from 13.12.17 to 16.12.17 by Mr. J. Karthick, Jaycee International Trainer and his team. The Placement Training Program was organized from 07.12.17 to 09.12.17 for all the third year students by Placement Training Officers, Paavai institutions. Republic Day was celebrated on 26 th January 2017, in a grand manner. The Chairman of Paavai Institutions hoisted the National flag and distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions. On 16 th Feb 18 The State Level Technical Symposium TECHNOSIUM 2K18 was organized at Paavai Polytechnic College. Smt.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions, presided over the function. Shri. R. R. Sathiyamurthi, B.Arch., M.S. (U.K), Executive Director, R.R Tulsi Builders(P) Ltd., Erode, was the Chief Guest. Students from various colleges presented their papers. The best paper presentations were awarded with cash awards.

Our Polytechnic provides an opportunity for budding students to speak about Science and Technology Innovations every day at 1.00 p.m. SPORTS & GAMES Besides Academic activities, our students have participated in various Tournaments in Divisional and State Level Competitions and won the Prizes. Our Student Selvan. N. Mouneeswaran of First year Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering has won First place in 20 th All India Karate & Kung-fu championship-2017 held at Tiruchengode and 7 th All style open karate championship-2017 held at Bangalore. On 17.08.17 our Student Selvan. N. Mouneeswaran of First year Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering has won Our women s basket Ball Team won First place in 2 nd consecutive IPAA Salem Divisional Level Basket Ball Tournament held on 21. 08. 2017 at Thiyagaraja Polytechnic college, Salem. On 08.09.17 our Men s Ball Badminton Team won First place in 4 th consecutive IPAA Salem Division level held at Mysuri Polytechnic College, Salem. On 11.09.17 & 12.09.17 our Women s Ball Badminton Team won First place in 3 rd consecutive IPAA Salem Division level held at Thiyagaraja Polytechnic college, Salem. On 06.10.17 & 09.10.17 our Student Selvan. G. Gokulnath Rao of Third year Diploma in Automobile Engineering has represented to Tamilnadu Ball Badminton team for 63 rd Junior National Ball Badminton Tournament held at Karnataka. His team won 2 nd place. On 07.12.17 our Men s Ball Badminton Team won First place in IPAA Salem Division level held at Paavai Polytechnic College, Salem. Our Men s Basket Ball team Won First place consecutive 8 th time in the IPAA state level tournament held on 14 th and 15 th December at Shanmuga Polytechnic College, Thanjaur. Our College Team participated and won the First place. On 3 rd January, IPAA State Level Basket Ball Men Tournament was held at Excel Polytechnic College, Komarapalayam. Our students have won the match consecutively for the Third time. IPAA Salem Divisional Athletic Meet for Men was held from 05.01.18 to 06.01.18 at Mahatma Gandhi Stadium, Salem. Our College Team participated and won 2 Gold medals, 1 Silver medal & 3 Bronze medals. IPAA Salem Divisional Athletic Meet for women was held from 11.01.18 at Thiyagaraja Polytechnic College, Salem. Our College Team participated and won 3 Bronze Medals and 1 Fourth place. Our Men s Ball Badminton team Won First place and Women s Basket Ball team won 3 rd Price in the IAPP state level tournament held on 14 and 19 th Feb at Arulmiku Kalasalingam Polytechnic College.

PARENTS MEETING In order to discuss the academic performance of our students, Parent meet has been conducted frequently. Parents meet was conducted on 19 th & 20 th September, for our First Year Students to discuss the odd semester academic performance and action to be taken for further improvement. To discuss the academic performance of Third year students of all Departments, Parents meeting was conducted on 02.01.18. On 03.01.18, Parents meet was conducted for the Second Year Students and discussed their academic performance. NSS ACTIVITIES Under NSS Activity, training program on Life Skills was conducted from 27 th to 29 th June for the first year students and the Resource person was Mr. Loganathan HOD/Audio-Visual, Paavai Institutions. Under NSS activity, National Youth Day was celebrated at Paavai Polytechnic College. Our NSS Volunteers participated. NSS Day Celebration was organized on 23.01.18, under the title of Peer Educators Training Program at CSI Polytechnic College. Our college NSS Programme Officer participated with 2 NSS Volunteers. One day directorate level Inter polytechnic college workshop was conducted on 09.02.18 under the title of Enhancing Employability Skills at K.S. Rangasamy Polytechnic College. Our college NSS Programme Officer participated with 5 NSS Volunteers. PAPER PRESENTATION Our Students have actively participated in many Symposiums and presented Technical Papers on various Topics. Final Year Electrical and Electronics Engineering students Selvan.M.Vinothkumar and Selvan.B. Barath presented a paper on Hybrid Electric Vehicles at Kongu Polytechnic College, Perundurai on 05.01.2018 and won Third prize. On 20 th January, Selvan. M. Sarath Kumar of Final year Mechanical Engineering presented a Paper on the Renewable Energy sources (Solar Street Light) at Musuri Polytechnic College, Musuri and won Third Prize. And also he he won Second Prize in Arul Murugan Polytechnic College at Thennilai on the title of Composite Material held on 02.02.18.

24 Students got Centum in various subjects SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT On 19 th January 2018, our student Selvan. Sojan Thomas.T of Third Year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering was awarded ISTE CHAPTER- BEST STUDENT OF 2017 held at Thiyagaraja Polytechnic College, Salem. It was given to him for his overall performance and involvement. He Secured 23 Centums out of 37 Subjects, upto 5 th semester he have 98.62%. CAMPUS RECRUITMENT On 19.12.17, OFF Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Renault Nissan Automative India Pvt. Ltd, Chennai at Muthayammal Institutions for our Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Engineering. Fourteen Students were selected. Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Grupo Antalin, Chennai on 20.12.2017 at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Engineering students. Fifty students were selected. On 22.12.17, Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Sakura Autoparts India Pvt. Ltd, Chennai at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Many Students were selected. On 29.12.17, Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by L&W Construction Pvt. Ltd, Chennai at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Civil Engineering Students. Sixteen Students were selected. Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Brakes India Pvt. Ltd, Chennai on 04.01.18 at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Twenty Nine students were selected. On 06.01.18, OFF Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by L&T Pvt Ltd, Chennai at Muthayammal Institutions for our Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Engineering. Three Students were selected. On 08.01.18, Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Velciti Consulting Engineers(P) Ltd, Chennai at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Civil Engineering Students. Twenty Seven Students were selected. On 19.01.18, Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Nokia, Chennai at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering Students. Ten Students were selected.

On 02.02.18, OFF Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Infac India Pvt Ltd, Chennai at Muthayammal Institutions for our Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Engineering. Fifty One Students were selected. Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by LG Balakridhnan & Bros Ltd, Chennai on 07.02.18 at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Fourty Two students were selected. CONCLUSION To conclude the academic year 2017-2018 sailed smooth with varied activities being imprinted in its achievements. It is an ongoing process and each staff member has contributed towards the achievement of goals. We march with a great vision and we are truly optimistic in achieving it. My sincere thanks go to our management who lend their helping hands at all moments. I thank all the staff for their co-operation and service rendered to the student community. **********
