This fund is established to support scholarship and innovation in medication education within the Department of Internal Medicine at the School of Medicine. Dr. Basim Dubaybo writes: The recognition of Dr. Cardozo s achievement in attaining teaching excellence abounds in the respect of his trainees and his peers who often sought his advice about clinical medicine, medical education, and a host of other matters. Material recognition of his teaching also abounds in numerous awards across broad venues, some of which include the virtual annual awarding of the distinguished teaching award chosen by the house staff, college teaching awards chosen by his peers, Top Doc awards chosen by community physicians, the Claude Pepper award from the state of Michigan, and his election as a fellow to the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh). All of us who were fortunate to enter the sphere of this master educator, of great humility, emerged with a glimpse of the heights they as a physician could reach in the art of medicine and with the inspiration to achieve it.
