OKLAHOMA FCCLA July 2018 This summer, FCCLA members from across the country will gather in Atlanta to network with fellow members, attend FCCLA program workshops and leadership sessions, and take part in Competitive Events. OKLAHOMA CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY No refunds are available from the Oklahoma Association of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America for any of the state costs. Registration at National Conference You have registered on-line for the National Leadership Conference through the national web site. Conference registration is computerized name badges, tickets for sessions, meal functions and other activities will be generated by computer. These badges serve as admission to all meetings and sessions. Badges and dress code will be checked at the entrance of conference activities. If paying by purchase order or check, full payment must have been received at national headquarters by June 15, 2018. Invoices that have not been paid in full by June 15 will incur a $25 late fee per invoice. Registration packets will only be distributed to attendees with a zero balance or by securing the balance with another form of payment when picking up registration materials. Each adviser/chaperone is responsible for picking up their chapter s registration packet. Reminder to Advisers NLC Required FORMS! Advisers will need to bring (completed and signed), 2018 NLC Permission to Attend/Mandatory Dress Code Form, in order to pick up your conference registration materials at the Registration Desk. National also requires that every student delegate and guest, read and complete the following forms: Code of Conduct, and Permission Form. Advisers should collect all three forms and bring to the conference for possible reference. All forms can be found on the FCCLA National website or in the 2018 NLC Guide. 1
DRESS CODE POLICY ULTIMATE IMAGE AWARD Mandatory Dress Code policy for Oklahoma: General Sessions Business Session Exhibits Workshops STAR Event Participants Professional white shirt Neckwear options can include the neckwear from the official emblematic supplier; black tie; black bow tie; or single strand of pearls; Black bottoms (slacks, skirt, sheath dress) Shoes (black) FCCLA red blazer Exception: Culinary Arts participants are welcome to wear their chef s attire during the STAR Event & Recognition Sessions. The FCCLA Ultimate Image Award will be based on the vote of the FCCLA Board of Directors present at NLC. Keep your eyes open for the state whose members most exemplify the FCCLA image and display a professional appearance throughout the conference. The state that is selected will be presented with the FCCLA Ultimate Image Award at the Closing General Session. National Travel will be sending you an email with key pick up information. Special Event Attire: Casual slacks, shorts, jeans, t-shirts, athletic wear, and tennis shoes. LUGGAGE Please tag bags with your name and home address using the FCCLA luggage tag and the Oklahoma stickers. HOTEL GUIDELINES Delegates should check fees for hotel services, i.e. phone, movies, internet connections, before using them. Room service will be paid for on a cash basis only. There is a midnight hotel curfew. All delegates are expected to be in their rooms and quiet by midnight! 2
BACKPACKS All delegates who purchased the Oklahoma convention package by the April deadline will receive a backpack. The backpack will have the Oklahoma nametag, T-shirt, white dress shirt (black cardigan for female advisers) trading pins, Oklahoma stickers and luggage tags inside. MONEY TIPS You should bring enough spending money to cover meals, souvenirs and snacks while attending national conference. If you preregistered for a tour, it may include a meal. See tour details for specifics. COMPETITIVE EVENTS SCHEDULE Competitive Events activities will be held Friday and Saturday, June 29 June 30, 2018 and will take place in multiple conference venues. The Culinary Arts STAR Event will take place at the Art Institute of Atlanta on Saturday, June 30. Transportation to the Art Institute will be provided by FCCLA for event participants and volunteers for the Culinary Event. Wednesday & Thursday - Chapter advisers are responsible for picking up all STAR Events registration materials and distributing items to their STAR Event participants. Failure to do so will result in a 3 point deduction. Culinary Arts Additional Requirement: Orientation is online. Information can be found on the National website.
