Be sure to check that!
Wednesday, February 28 11:00 pm - Meet at Neyland to load up the bus. Everyone driving to campus needs to let me know so I can get parking passes. 12:00 am - Leave for Gainesville, FL. Allowed 1 suitcase and one carry-on Drive overnight to Florida
Thursday, March 1 10:00 am - Arrive in Gainesville. Eat breakfast. 11:00 am-2:30 pm - Check into rooms if ready. Don t pack anything essential in your suitcase. Free time until we head to Depot Park. 3:00 pm-6:00 pm - All steel bridge teams display on the promenade. Rest of us can do scavenger hunt competition/hang out. Food trucks will be available. Team flag and team cheer.
Thursday, March 1 6:00 pm-7:00 pm - Opening Ceremony 7:30 pm - Canoe, bridge and geowall captains meetings. Everyone else back to hotel. 9:00 pm - Mandatory team meeting at hotel lobby. Will give out shirts and other important info then.
Friday, March 2 6:30 am - Be ready and meet at lobby. Hotel breakfast is not complimentary. Can either choose to get your own breakfast before 6:30 or eat what we provide. 7:00 am-5:00 pm - Full day of competitions at UF campus. Lunch provided by UF at Gator Corner Dining (cafeteria) 8ish - UF is planning a social event at club called 8 seconds. This is considered a spirit competition so we want to see as many people there as possible.
9:30ish - Head back to hotel. Don t have anything scheduled for the rest of the night. Make sure to pack that night. Saturday, March 3 7:00 am - Leave hotel. Same breakfast situation as day before. 7:30 am-5:30 pm - Full day of competitions at Lake Wauburg. Lunch will be provided at the lake. 5:30 pm - Back to hotel to get ready for Awards Banquet. 7:30 pm - Head to Phillips Center for the Performing Arts to attend Awards Banquet. Dress nicely!
Sunday, March 4 8:30 am Load up bus and leave for Knoxville Packing List Not your typical engineering conference. Will spend most of our time outside Need casual/athletic wear for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Weather will be sunny in mid-70s and low 80s. Show school spirit! 8-9 hour ride to Gainesville, so wear comfortable clothing for the bus. Bring change of clothes for the evenings in case you want to go out someplace. Bring swimwear in case you want to hang out at hotel pool Things to entertain yourselves: books, volleyball, gameboy, cards Bring snacks/food for the weekend.
